Stayed here oct.2011. The hotel is very modern, light and clean and the decor gives a feeling of space. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, it seemed like nothing was too much trouble. The room (double) was average size, not exactly huge but pleasant. Ours looked out over the neighbouring roads and fields. Safe and TV were provided. There was an inner door which, along with the tight fitting windows, helped isolate the room from noise. Since the corridors are carpeted and have soft furnishings, noise was at a minimum anyway - unlike many hotels I've been in.
The only minor quibble with the room was the bathroom, or rather its door. This is formed by two glass partitions, in our case they were out of true and the bottom parts collided upon closure, leading to small fragments of glass being chipped off. A rather ludicrous design IMO, one of looks over practicality.
The breakfast was a bit poor, a selection of cereals and cold meats and the like, nothing hot except toast. Even the water for the tea was lukewarm. For a hotel of this size, they could do far better. Next door there is a bar/restaurant with a great selection of tapas and little bar snacks - just as well, as it happens.
The location in Getxo, a leafy middle class suburb of Bilbao is, as we already knew, not really central but the hotel is perfect for those driving. It is located off a roundabout on the main road to the airport and easy to find. Street parking is plentiful in the vicinity. You can walk 15 mins or so and get to the beach, and the local residential area is pleasant enough to go walking in.
All in all a recommendable place, but the suburban/coastal location is probably not suitable for those planning to spend much time in the city centre and don't expect a decent breakfast.
