Booked the morning of our stay as we needed a crash pad whilst we were visiting Alicante for the yearly Hogueras festival.
Ideally situated if you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of the city centre. There's a bus stop 100 yards down the road (and across the very busy N332) which can get you into town within 10 minutes.
Check in needs to be via the adjoining Ibis hotel (my booking reservation informed me the room would be allocated by a machine outside - which wasn't actually there hence head over the the other reception to book in.
Entry to the room is via a 6 figure code punched into a keypad on the door (So don't lose your code but I supposed it beats carrying a key around...)
Room - bright if basic, king size (comfotable) bed with 2 pillows, 2 medium sized towels, a few electric points, pull down cream "black out" blind (which did a very good job actually).
If possible ask for a room facing towards the Meditteranean if you really crave a view, otherwise, your view at the back of the hotel is an embankment up to a massive hotel behind and is a bit ugly. Basic shower cubicle which as really nice and powerful.
"Free" broadband is provided at this hotel, but speed is limited to 256kb so don't rely on it for streaming or heavy use.
Don't expect to see many staff - reception was looked when we arrived (and ony open for breakfast), and signs on display to warn of possibly thefts from cars if precautions not taken.
Breakfast- available from the small recpetion area and very basic, but tasty continental breakfast with choice of 2 cereals, some fruit, toast/croissants with several different jams, yoghurts and tea/coffee/juice. As there's little in the way of facilities nearby, it's probably worth the purchase (around 4 euros) or head over the the Ibis a few yards away for their buffet. No keys to hand in so rapid check out.
Served its purpose. Too far out of the city to walk so transport is essential.
Would stay again
If view is important to you, ask for a room facing the sea.
