“Fantastic almost everything at the Suites del Mar”

Reading the reviews you can tell there is some confusion between the Hotel part and the Suites part. Let me try and help there - you need to pay more money to stay in the Suites part. The rooms are modern and massive and worth the extra euros. I would also book directly with the hotel rather than a booking agent as then you are more likely to get the position./requests you desire. You need a high up floor with a view over the beach NOT the marina. We actually only ended up on the 3rd floor but we were lucky not to be bothered by noises from people above us and we were close to the port end rather than town end so all we could hear was the sea when we were lying in bed. Fabulous. The bed was large and comfortable. The bath was good (although I couldn't work the jacuzzi bit but I wasn't bothered or I would have rung reception). The shower overlooking the sea was amazing but I didn't use that as you have to be less shy than me as the glass has to be see through at both sides to be spectacular). Lots of toiletries, good kettle although we had to buy milk as one small sachet a day is not a lot of use. We thought the lobby area on arrival was gorgeous. Brilliant large windows overlooking the beach and sea - you could sit there all day.
I only have one complaint - some of the receptionists were not very friendly. You rarely got a smile as you walked past the desk and one of the young male receptionists was discourteous to me when I asked how many euros I would get for £100 once they had taken their commission off. He answered 72 euros, I pointed out that I thought he was wrong and that was not what the written notice said, he just shrugged and said, "that is what it is." I had to wait until one of the female receptionists was on and ask again. 113 as it happens you arrogant little toad. I thought about knocking a star off for that as I don't expect to pay these prices and be talked to like that but the rest of the hotel was just too nice.

Room Tip: As usual, high up and facing the beach rather than the marina. Closer to the port end rather than th...

Me and my family were in Suites del Mar Alicante last Summer. We stayed in a Junior Suite.
It was fantastic. Service was excelent and the room beautiful..
The playa is just behind the hotel and the Touristic Bay just in front with a lot of very nice restaurant were You can eat excellent food.
The Centre is also very close and you don 't need the car.

Stayed for almost two weeks second time around. Breakfast was alright, pool area was a bit crowded, but pleasant. Service is kind. They had trouble with a lamp in our room and came back three times to fix it - finally they shut down electricity in the hotel for an afternoon (so it probably was not just us having trouble) and that solved the problem.
We stayed on the fourth floor (hotel has five floors) and the person above us smoked, so we got ashes on our balcony, which was not cleaned. Also, insulation is not great, so we heard the quests above us walking around etc. Our first night was the last night of 'summer', so a disco across the bay had a large party - very loud music until about four am. I would not have liked to stay there during summer if it was always like that.
Rooms are large, as are beds. Bathrooms are small (but showers are in a separate room). Room service was decent and the tv had many channels. Location is great - close to Postiguet, close to the tram or taxi station for going to San Juan, close to town.

Fabulous location, excellent views of the bay and the sea from the private balcony. The rooms are very quiet, clean and well equipped. Big comfortable beds. Nice toiletries in the bathrooms. I would definitely recommend it.

Arrived late in evening and still managed to upgrade our booking . Staff very helpful! Lovely hotel, great views, friendly and helpful staff. Room very comfortable with excellent bathroom. Balcony over looking the Med. Breakfast, tho extra, was very good, includes cava for those who wish! Went back a week later on the off chance of a room, and just in time as they were almost fully booked, another lovely room etc. and again staff very helpful and friendly.

Well what can we say about this hotel? It has to be one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at.Firstly the check in was great we thought we would leave our luggage there for the day as we checked out of another hotel that morning. We arrived at the reception at10.30am only to be told our room was ready for us to check in amazing at that time of day, they just had to check the room before so we went and had a drink for 10 mins they phoned us on the mobile and told us we could get into our room whenever we wanted as it was all checked and ready whoooa what service and a great start. So back we went and were checked in very professionally and friendly staff on the reception we could not fault them at all.All this and it's just 11am check in should be 4pm so an extra day really to enjoy our room?

Now for the room ,we had a junior suite (825).Nothing junior about this room it was stunning very large ,airy ,nice quiet aircon and when we pulled back the drapes omg what a view,it was just beautiful.A view of all you
could want, sea, town, mountains, the castle and hey even the beach. You couldn't ask for
more. The room had two double sliding doors out onto the balcony with loungers and table plenty of space to sit and enjoy a glass Of chilled wine just perfect. We both slept very well as that side is very quiet at night.

The bathroom was large two basins large area and nice powerful shower oh and a bath and loads of toiletries even toothbrushes and paste. It had a mini bar and the prices were fine but nothing that we really wanted so we went to a nice supermarket up in the centre and got some mini cavas 3 for 5 euro bargain and popped them in the fridge as there was plenty space.

It has a lovely spa area that with out room type you could use but we didn't as the hotel is right on a beautiful beach so the location of the hotel is great 2mins to the beach and 5 mins to the centre.

Come back here?in a heartbeat we can't wait to go back there,It's a beautiful hotel in a stunning location.A very big thank you the hotel especially the lovely girl who checked us in.

A great hotel in a ideal location, just a minutes walk to the beach. We stayed in the suites and it was a massive room with 2 queen beds. The housekeeping was excellent and the breakfast is good too and caters for all tastes. I really don't know what the people in the other reviews have been complaining about! Would definitely recommend.
