We wanted somewhere quiet, out of the way with good food and no children and we managed to find it at the Abama.
Our room was a short walk from the main hotel and over looked one of the many gardens, with palm trees, cactus, birds of paradise it does feel very tropical, we also had the swimming pool at the end of our patio too. The room its self was light and airy with all the facilities you could need. There is a golf buggy taxi service that is run at most times of day if you find all the walking up and down to the hotel restaurants and beach a bit tiring as the hotel is on steep incline.
The beach area which you can get to by using either the vehicular or golf buggy or for the adventurist by foot down winding steps, is wonderful and again so is lunch in the little resturant near the waterfront, if you go first thing in the morning you may well have the whole place to yourself, that and a few birds and maybe a few fishermen.
If like us all you want to do is relax this hotel certainly delivers, we only ventured out once and that was to Mont Teide, well worth the effort, breath taking.
The hotel's restaurants of which there are many including a Sushi and a Michelin star one, are very good and well worth a visit. Yes it can be expensive, if you want it to be, however no more so than most five star Hotels.
