“Very picturesque with good cava”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

This was one of the better winery tours we have taken. The building and grounds are very scenic. This is a great, old building with extensive underground tunnels and facilities. Our guide was knowledgable, and generous at the tasting.

“Lovely location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

The place is simply stunning. With Montserrat mountains in the distance and well kept grounds as well as beautiful buildings, you can't go wrong. The tour guide (Pepe was ours) is knowledgeable about every detail of the vineyard. You'll see everything from old-style bottle corkers, the first barrel used, and enormouse passage ways full of barrels. Cava tasting at the end brings the visit to a close nicely. Gift shop available.

“Not to be missed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

I have been on the tour at least 6 times in 4 different languages,If you book in advance you can get a tour in your native language,Its a really interesting insight into the history and production of Cava (in my view at least as good as and better than most champagne) the tour takes you round miles of underground cellers on a electric powered tug with seating in the trailers and as you come back up in the lift you are welcomed with a perfect glass of their exquiste Cava

“Terrific”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2013

We had rented a car in France and we drove into Spain after skiing in Andorra, so we thought we would explore the area around Barcelona before dropping off the car. After a delicious lunch at Restaurant Cal Ton in Vilafranca del Penedes, we had an easy 10-15 minute drive in Codornui. We had pre booked an English speaking tour at 3pm.

Codorniu was definitely a highlight of our time in Catalon. The extensive wine caves were easily accessed by a small train which my children, 11 and 13, thought was fun.

Our guide, Vincent, was informative, friendly and had a passion for cava and wine making. It was great to have a chat with him over a couple of glasses of cava. He also arranged for non alcoholic grape juice for the kids, which was a nice touch. The architecture of the many buildings on site was attractive, designed by a Gaudi contemporary.

The small shop had cute inexpensive cava gifts ie vintage posters, note pads and lip gloss, and we brought home vintage cava in a wonderful wooden box . Delicious!

“Wonderful winery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2012

We visited this winery ona wine tour and were very impressed. Their cava is excellent and the tour very interesting. We had a video introduction at first, then a tour through the garden, the production area and ended the tour with the tasting of two very nice wines. I can only recommend this place if you are in Barcelona.
