staying 6 nights between Christmas & New Year we had a `comfort´ room, with balcony & sea view, that despite being a little frayed around the edges was both cosy (thanks to radiators) and comfortable. We liked having a kettle in the room for essential bed tea (bring your own). The breakfast choices were reasonably varied, though at busy times the crockery was in short supply. We ate in the restaurant once (3 courses €24) and were satified with our meals but not bowled over. The spa was disappointing as it simply is not large enough to qualify as a wellness experience although the massage was excellent. The public rooms & areas outside are well supplied with comfy seating making the most of the views and the open fire was an additional plus in this dark season.
I think the €10 per diem charge for parking is rather cheeky as the hotel is not in the centre of a city, nor indeed the town but as it was included in our package I can´t get too indignant.
Taken all together the few niggles are completely overrided by the fabulous location- the price/value equation doesn´t often deliver such a lovely view.
