“Nice place for 2-week vacation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2014

Clean apartments with just enough comfort, good service. Great view on the sea which is very close (~100 meters or so), although it was too noisy at nights. There is also a very nice pool, a playground for children and a little harbor with a lot of boats and yachts - my 2-year old son was very happy. A large superstore (Alcampo) is also close (10 - 15 minutes walk), you can take the supermarket trolley with you and just leave it at the building entrance, they are regularly collected.

Room Tip: The apartments are also very noisy, you can hear very well what your next door/floor neighbors do or...

I feel in some ways that i should not write this review and just keep my secret. I have stayed in these apartments countless times. In both the two beds where the living area and the bedrooms overlook the beach and the three beds where the living room overlooks the beach and the bedrooms overlook the marina. The apartments are clean, roomy and well equipped. All hav air con and usually u can pick up an umbrella and beach gear in the foyer from previous residents. Sadly there is no wifi in the apt but equally this is probably better on hols! U can access wifi in the office where the staff are very obliging. I love this little oasis near valencia, the ppl speak very little english and it is rare to see english or irish tourists. You can walk across the beaches to the malverosa in valencia and see the port and the wonderful city. There are plenty of restaurants and shops on ur doorstep. Yes, sometimes after a storm veggies get washed from the farms onto the beach and yes it can be a bit tacky but with the beaches, pools and lovely ppl (and a decent bed!) Port Saplaya is a perfect family holiday location. Its quiet and safe and very suitable for the elderly also.

Room Tip: I prefer not to stay above the fourth floor

Be aware that the reception closes early, and is difficult to find the first time. Taxis often have no GPS, or the address is not included in their GPS. Also beware that taxis NEVER take more than 4 passengers, which made travelling to Valencia and the airport more expensive. There are no public transport to Valencia, so you have to use taxis. We had problems with the lock - the door was extremely difficult to open. So be careful to test the door/lock before the reception close. We had to change apartment because of the broken lock.
Having said all this; we finally found the apartment OK, and the view from the balcony terrific.
Also, the beach was beautiful, and our children loved it. In the backyard you can find some OK restaurants. Quite a long walk to the supermarked, but a very small shop nearby sells bread and beer etc.

The apartment was average, small beds, 2 rooms, good living room and nice kitchen. The view was terrific, very nice. We were exactly next to the Sea. But there was lots of noise, i could hear all the people in the other apartments. There were no Bars around us, just restaurants.
The good thing is that there is the Alcampo - a big supermarket, where u can find everything.
In my opinion, this is good place for old people, but its very boring for the young generation.

Room Tip: choose a room with a seas view, same price almost

Was a little apprehensive after seeing some photos on here. Nice large apartment sleeps up to 8 with large dining area, small gally kitchen but adequate, fridge freezer, washer, microwave etc. Nice large balcony overlooking the sea. Two good sized bathrooms with showers over. Only complaint is the walls arent very thick so sometimes you can here guests in other rooms.

Quiet in the evenings but expected for time of year. Nice staff in La Senyoria, lovely Tapas etc. Cheap small supermarket on site. Nice to wallk round the harbour area which is unexpected from the outside.

Located about 15 mins from the train station by taxi can recommend a good English taxi driver who wouldnt rip you off like the ones at the train station, they wanted 50 euroes to the apartments we paid 16 euros with him.

Location was okay for us becuase we were there for the Moto GP so closer to the circuit. Would re visit again if i wanted to visit Valencia so i had the best of both.

First of all a Word of Warining! Nautical Port Apartments are run by these people at the same place under a different name. All part of a wider deception as follows:

Firstly we found the place extremely difficult to find however with some help we got there only to find the place did not open until 4.00pm. This was never explained to us and because of this I had booked a flight which got us to Spain for 9.00am. This meant we spent a day in the heat with a 17 month old baby which was not a pleasure. Unfortunately this issue is just a tip of a very large iceberg!

When I got to the check in area I was greeted by a very rude lady who stated that they had no record whatsoever of our booking, after fifteen minutes of logging onto various laptops. Even when presented with the printed Expedia booking she was adamant that there was no booking.

Eventually the lady stated that she would “try her best” to book us in but could only create a booking for five nights, and then they would “see what they could do” about the rest of the stay. She told me I would have to pay €512 for this on my credit card. Given that we had nowhere else to stay and my wife was stuck in the car with our baby I gave the lady my card to make payment, even though the issue of the remaining two nights were never resolved.

I then mentioned that our booking (which they claim they never had a record of) had a cot requested. After some moaning she went off and found an old, dusty packaged cot which I was given to carry to the room.

I was taken to a disgusting block which was very dirty with cracked tiles, litter in the stairwell and shopping trolleys strewn around. My wife and baby remained in the car at this point. I then found a room which was totally unfit for our stay and unsafe for a 17 month old baby.

The accommodation was dirty (stains on the table and over the floor) it was rundown and there were cracked tiles peeling paint and a whole manner of things which would not be safe for a baby. Furthermore the cot was covered in dirty stains again which is disgusting and unhygienic and there is no way I would put my baby in there!

After this I went to get my wife to get her to look at the apartment and she was in complete agreement that this was a) no where near what was advertised and b) and most importantly was an awful disgusting and unsafe place for our baby.

With this in mind we went straight to reception to complain and were passed to a guy call Javier. Javier was most unhelpful saying that there was nothing wrong with the accommodation and nothing could be done. My wife also asked about the 5 day issue and again we were told “he could see what could be done”

The attitude was so disgraceful and the place so awful that we said we will not be staying there. Bearing in mind at this stage we had nowhere else to stay. Javier then announced that we could not have the money I had paid just 10-15 minutes earlier refunded as everything was fine. At this point we insisted on speaking to Expedia and after some refusals and statements telling us Expedia were closed on Sunday, and after my wife’s’ insistence to look at the Expedia UK site, he eventually let us call.

My wife got through to register a complaint and ask for advice. Shirley and Javier then spoke about this and the phone was passed back to my wife where it was stated that the hotel would indeed provide a refund the following day as the general manager was required to process the refund and he would be back on Monday. Javier advised that he was not the manager. On the call Expedia confirmed that she would ring us on the Monday to confirm this had all be done.

After that in the belief that this refund was to be processed we spent the next three hours trying to find a hotel, in the baking heat with our baby. Eventually we found a hotel in the centre of Valencia who could accommodate us. This completely ruined the holiday as we deliberately booked a coastal holiday (with a view to visiting Valencia) but now ended up on a week long city break without a pool and all of things we wanted on a holiday with our baby. We did consider flying straight home however the cost of this was far too high.

As we heard no more by the 22nd we returned to the Nautical Port Apartment to ask them what was happening given they were not responding to Expedia's calls. Stupidly I thought they may have done the refund and just not got back to Expedia. I was obviously very silly to have such faith in honesty and decency.

When we arrived in reception we asked to see the manager and again the same rude lady went out to the back and the manager appeared. The manager here was Javier the man who on Sunday who claimed he was not the manager!!! We asked him what was happening with the refund which he had agreed with Shirley on the Sunday as we heard nothing more.

He the went onto say that “the refund is not possible” “we had a room ready for you”. I stated quite clearly that this was not the case (they never had the booking or a room available for seven nights) and that the room and whole area was disgraceful. Again he said “the refund is not possible”

Have a look at the attached pictures and see what you think, avoid this place at all costs unless you want to be ripped off, lied too, defrauded and spending your holiday in a run down filth infested pighole!

Room Tip: Dont stay here
