“A Beautiful and Idyllic Haven... Very Special.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2012

Our holiday in Italy was made very special indeed because of this wonderfully peaceful bed & breakfast run by Adriana and her family. On arrival the panoramic views across the Rubicon valley and beatiful gardens simply took our breath away. After a dip in the pool we sat for hours looking out across the valley, listening to and watching the wildlife with a fantastic bottle of wine from Adrianas friends vineyard.

Our accommodation was lovely... spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated with a small kitchenette unit, television and fridge, and again lovely views just outside our patio doors.

We had a lovely welcome from Adriana when we were presented with freshly picked fruit from her orchard and a selection of meats with flatbread. You can also help yourself to vegetables and herbs that Adriana grows in her garden. Each morning breakfast is provided on a terrace with panoramic views, a selection of freshly cooked savoury pies, sweet pies and biscuits are baked and provided by Adriana, fresh fruit is served picked again from her orchards and all jams are home made. Coffee, tea, juice, yogurt, meats, breads are all available for you, nothing is too much trouble and everything is delicious !

Our stay was so good that when we left to move onto our other accommodation it turned out to be a total disappointment so we turned around and went back to Poggio Degli Ulivi for another 4 blissful days!

An incredibly special place run by equally special people...

The lovely warm welcoming of Adriana sets the note of the holiday from the very first moment you feel welcomed and enchanted by the location. The house is beautiful and the swimming pool very enjoyable with a gorgeous view of the sourounding hills. The rooms and bathroom are decorated with much taste and are very spacious. Each of the three rooms has a little terrasse with a table and chairs where you can relax after exploring the lovely villages of San Leo, Verruchio or Santarcangelo which are close by. Adriana spoils her guests with a superb breakfast with a variety of local specialties and new homemade cakes everyday. We have very much enjoyed our stay with Adriana, will warmly recommend it to our family and friends and will certainly be back hopefully soon.

Poggio degli Ulivi is truly the most peaceful villa we have ever stayed in, located deep in the hills near Cesena, which offered seclusion and fantastic views.

Our hosts were very kind and extremely hospitable and we really felt like we were part of the family - thank you Adriana for everything!

We have been recommending this place ever since we returned home. If you are looking for a restful holiday which is less than an hour from Bologna, do not hesitate to book here... the rooms, views and hospitality will far exceed your expectations.

We stayed here last year for one night on our way south and were enchanted by the location, on the hills above Cesena, and the total tranquillity to be found. We have since returned again for 2 nights and did not want to leave! The pool lies just a few steps from the 3 beautiful bedrooms and a post breakfast swim is to be recommended after enjoying Adriana's wonderful homemade breakfast! Each room has a little fridge area and a terrace so you can enjoy an aperitif or small meal and enjoy the surroundings. There are nice bike rides from the door and you are quickly into the hill towns of Monteleone, Roncofreddo and more. Sorrivoli and its castle are a 10 min walk uphill and the Agriturismo Le Spighe is about 1km away and recommended for dinner. All in all, a fantastic location and hospitality. We will definitely be going back!
