Here is all the good part: our room was spotless and perfect. The food was as good as anywhere I have traveled. All of the staff were friendly and helpful every instant. Whatever you wanted, it was available. The price was very reasonable considering the quality of the experience. Regarding the surf, I could walk out my door, lean my head 15 degrees to the left and check out the spot any time of day. During the week, much of the time, the surf is empty and you can just pick your time and go out.
Ok, to be fair, let's talk about the negatives. The surf spot can be a bit fickle. It changes a lot during the different tides and winds. If you keep an eye on it, you will have no shortage of good fun waves. It can be challenging. The inside section can pound you. If you are a rank beginner, you could have your hands full getting out the channel on a consistent, bigger swell. The resort is quite a drive from the airport and the town of La Libertad, but that is why there are not too many surfers...it is the last spot on the road. It is a bit remote from the town life, and pretty quiet at night. What else...El Salvador is hot in the middle of the day. Ok that is all I can think of. I hope I have a chance to go back. Oh yeah, they could buy a couple more boards and get better leashes.
