“Best Wedding Ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2009

We got married at Yorebridge on 30 October 2009 and it was truly amazing, it exceeded all our expectations!
This is a perfect hotel in a stunning location with fanastic food and staff who are extremely accomodating and hardworking.
Charlotte and Dave, the hotel owners have created a beautiful boutique hotel which is extremely well managed. It has such a delightful ambience which makes it so magical.

For the majority of my wedding planning I dealt with Helen (as Charlotte was on maternity leave). Helen was an absolute star, extremely helpful, hardworking and has super organisational skills. Also a great sense of humour!!!! All my meetings with Helen were stress free and enjoyable!!

Our family arrived the day before the wedding to settle into Yorebridge. Upon check in we had a few minor issues which Meg dealt with professionally and efficiently. Our family and guests immediately loved the hotel and of course their bedrooms! We had an informal dinner in the Orangery on the Thursday evening which was fab - everyone had a great meal and generally chilled out in preparation for the big day!

The wedding day - WOW! Incredible. We had a civil ceremony in the Orangery with approx 50 adults and afew kids. The sun was shining so the views through the french doors/windows were amazing. Charlotte was extremely helpful in helping sort my dress out!!! After the ceremony we had champagne and guests were all able to soak up the beautiful surroundings of the hotels grounds. We got some amazing photographs - I had my wellies on and managed to get down by the river!! Fanastic!

The wedding breakfast - feedback from all our guests was incredible, everyone had an amazing meal. The majority of guests had fillet of steak which was cooked to order to perfection - so huge compliments to the chef. The organisation of tables and meals was excellent and that is highly commendable.

We used the same room, the Orangery for our ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception. All i can say is that Helen and the staff worked wonders in turning the room around quickly and with no disruption to the guests.

The evening reception was great, we had a band who were awesome and we all danced the night away!! The buffet was served in the room adjacent to the bar and went down an absolute treat.

I cant praise the hotel and staff enough, they certainly made our wedding one to remember forever. Even now 2 weeks later our friends and family are still talking about it!!! The plan is to have our anniversary bash here next year....!!

Stayed at the Yorebridge Hotel for my fortieth birthday, and was assured we would be well looked after. We arrived on the Wednesday and stayed in the Greenwich room in the eaves which is styled on a New York loft apartment.
We were greeted nicely enough but I read with interest that some peoples bags were carried up for them, not when we arrived. I don't think we met David or Charlotte so maybe this made the difference
As previously noted the room is at the top of the house so is up 3 fights of stairs, and watch out for the beams.
Fantastic bathroom, double baths with views over the fields, comfortable bed and the 'lounge' was great, though not a leather sofa which photos give the impression they are.
However I discovered no bulb in the bedside lamp, tried to ring down for one - the phones don't work presently, a problem with BT, so down 3 fights of stairs to get my own bulb which didn't fit, so back down for another one. When fitting the bulb discovered lamp shade held together with sticky tape! A bulb in the bathroom was out. The curtain at the velux window needed washed as it appeared to be covered in make up. Also in places it is obvious the room is ready for decorating as between the bedroom and lounge white plaster is showing on the dark painted walls where it looks as if it has been patched up. I appreciate I may sound like a moan but for over £200 a night I was expecting a high standard of finish everywhere in the room with everything perfect but maybe I'm expecting too much.
The Sky didn't work properly not the fault of the hotel - again, numerous lights throughout the hotel had bulbs out which interestingly enough were changed on Saturday when a wedding was due. Large cobwebs are also evident on the lights in the restaurant.
Again I sound like a pain but these aren't things I expected to see in a high quality boutique hotel
However the food was fantastic both the breakfast and the dinner, quite possibly the best food I've ever eaten, the staff are cheerful and generally helpful.
After reading the reviews I feel that unless you are there for a wedding, or if the owners aren't there, not quite all the stops are pulled out for you.
The communal areas are lovely and the surrounding grounds are beautiful. The issues I had didn't spoil the break however. I've been once and that will do.
Visit the Rose & Crown pub in the village for good pie too.

Our daughter and her fiance found this gem of a hotel on the internet and booked it for their wedding reception. As we had more guests than could comfortably fit in the dining room we hired a tepee to go on the front lawn. The whole reception worked wonderfully. Charlotte, David and Helen were extremely helpful at every stage of the arrangements. Guests had a choice of menu andthe meal was wonderful - beautifully cooked, presented and hot. The guests who stayed in the hotel enjoyed their rooms and the hot-tubs ! We would thoroughly recommend this hotel as a wedding venue as it has helpful and friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. It is also surrounded by stunning scenery.

My husband booked Yorebridge as a surprise mini honeymoon for four nights after our wedding. I had no idea where we were going but as soon as he mentioned the words "hot" and "tub" I was really looking forward to our stay. On our arrival and throughout our stay the owners and staff couldn't have been more welcoming. The hotel is incredibly well styled and our room was fantastic. I was a bit worried about the food as I'm a vegetarian and didn't want to be faced with either no choice or nut cutlets every night. Really shouldn't have had any concerns. The chefs prepared special food for me every night and can honestly say it's some of the best food I've ever eaten. My Husband loved the non veggie stuff just as much. Couldn't recommend this hotel enough, we'll definitely be going back.

Yorebridge House is always our first choice when planning a romantic break, so what could be more perfect than choosing Yorebridge as our wedding venue.

We got married in April 2009 and had the civil ceremony and reception at Yorebridge House. From the moment we booked the wedding the staff there could not have been more helpful. We were assigned our own wedding planner, for no extra charge who was on hand 24/7 to answer any of our venue queries.

We stayed for the entire weekend. Our guests were extremely impressed with the bedroooms (and spent the first hour looking round each other's rooms!). The hotel staff helped organise our pre-wedding meal (the food is to die for) and made our guests feel welcome.

On the morning of the wedding the ladies all had a luxurious breakfast whilst the men went clay pigeon shooting. Again this was all organised by the staff. Throughout the day nothing was too much trouble.

Guest were treated to cold beers and pimms on arrival. Following the ceremony we had belini's and canapes on the beautiful lawn. Unbeknowns to our guests, the canapes were fantastic value for money and really added a special touch to our day.

Wedding Breakfast.

Yorebridge's michelin trained chef (now in the michelin guide) did not disappoint. We had three courses of pure delight. Our guests have told us the food is amongst some of the best they've had. We had 65 guests to feed. Nothing came out cold or substandard.

Prior to the wedding we spent time with the chef to create our perfect wedding menu. We were able to taste all options prior to finalising the menu, this was one of our favourite planning jobs!

We chose the house wine and champagne which were delicious and great value.

Evening

The evening went without a hitch. One of our favourite parts were the fireworks we'd organised. Our guests were treated to an impressive firework display which looked especially good in the darkness of the Yorkshire Dales. These were let off by Dave, one of the hotel owners.

For us Yorebridge is a very special place. The hotel is very impressive. The rooms are devine, the food exquisite and the location stunning.

We recommend Yorebridge House to all.

For those wondering whether to get married there - just book the big day, you won't regret it.

We had a fabulous two days in the Dales and Yorebridge House can take credit for much of the enjoyment. It is a carefully thought-out, not cheap hotel, where the little touches of care count for much. The interior design is extremely tasteful - sophisticated modern - and the comfort levels are high. The restaurant is superb and the chef deserves kudos: think carefully prepared plates of local produce rather than massive piles of steaming food. There is a calmness about the place that is of course assisted by the fantastic location - if you are looking for tranquillity rather than noisy excitement.
Most important is the hospitality: David and Charlotte take every care to look after their guests and the atmosphere is kind of country house meets minimalist modernism, if that makes any sense. It works, at any rate.
A warning about the Greenwich suite, where we stayed. It is at the top of the house, spreading over three rooms in the sloping eaves, with massive wooden beams. The problem is that you are almost bound (unless we are totally clumsy, which is entirely possible) to knock your head at least once. This became rather a joking matter for us; but people do need to be forewarned. I am a bit surprised this suite passed the health and safety test (if indeed it did).

It was with great anticipation that we arrived at Yorebridge House, almost a year after our first visit. We were greeted warmly by David, the owner, who carried our bags up to our room. This time we chose ‘Bainbridge’, the largest room, with a double aspect over the charming garden and down the dale towards Hawes. It was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated – we were particularly impressed with the enormous bathroom with roll-top bath and double shower area. The splendid sleigh bed was one of the most comfortable that I’ve ever slept in. Mineral water and home-made shortbread were replenished daily.

A bar menu was recently introduced and the number of covers increased, and we feel that the hotel is still finding its way in this area. During our last stay we worked our way through a range of superb dishes, but this time were a little bewildered by the restaurant menu with its staccato descriptions. David confirmed that this was under review and a new menu would be appearing in the next couple of weeks. We tried the bar menu one evening, but felt that it did not distinguish itself enough from the restaurant menu. As we were staying for four nights, I would have liked a choice of more traditional, hearty dishes with vegetables, to contrast with the rich fare in the restaurant.

These, however, are small points as the food is excellent quality and every meal cooked to perfection. Breakfast is no exception, and the full English was an ideal start to a day’s walking. We also took advantage of a Yorebridge packed lunch, which was a veritable feast (though some might find £25 for two a little pricey!).

If you are planning to visit North Yorkshire, a stay at Yorebridge House is a must. The staff are friendly and attentive and the owners have successfully created an atmosphere of indulgent relaxation. Our second visit was a delight and certainly won’t be our last.
