“Very good holiday experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2014

Visited the hotel in December 2013. The reception and service was very warm.
There are a lot of activities to do table tennis, volleyball, play pool or darts, water aerobics, water polo with everything for everyone be it a family, couple or self.
The location of the pool is very good especially when taking poolside photos, you can give the impression of an " infinity pool " that seems connected to the ocean.
The staff are professional, friendly, respectful and do not invade your private space.
The food was good and well prepared but could do with some more variety.
The all inclusive package was good, the restaurant bitings and non-alcoholic cocktails were lovely but there is a need to improve the alcoholic cocktails.
Overall, i would not hesitate to recommend the hotel to anyone and would give it 4.5 out of 5.

The rooms are great and the service is generally friendly, exempt for the F&B folks. Then again this is where this hotel falls flat on its face. The food was down right horrible. The choice is thin and the quality is not impressive at all. I was lucky enough to negotiate a half board deal, which meant I had to have breakfast and an extra meal, either lunch or dinner, but I was not at all impressed. The north coast of Mombasa has some very good eating places and honestly, the full price for the all inclusive deal just reduces ones experience of Mombasa for some pretty drab culinary experience, toppled with some pretty cheap alcohol.

This is a beach hotel on the coast of Mombasa and so the location is good. However, should you find yourself here, please aim to negotiate for a B&B deal.

We have been here for one week. Apart from some noisy guests it has been a pleasure. Mark should be 4.5 out of 5.Location is excellent and the staff go the extra mile to please. Thr Animation Team are very good ambassadors though some of their music is a bit "thumpy".

Dear Edwin,

Thank you for staying with us again during your last visit at our Neptune Beach Hotel.

We are grateful that you have chosen Neptune Beach Hotel as your home when in Mombasa. We appreciate your reviews as they help us gauge the overall guest experience. I am glad you enjoyed your stay apart from the issue of noise from our other guests, which we shall see how best to address in future.

Your point on the music has been picked and our animation team will work on their music selection to make it more friendly to guests tastes.

We are proud of our staff and I have passed on your kind sentiments to them so that they know their effort is appreciated.

Thank you for being our Regular Repeat Guest, and we look forward to welcoming you back again.

Regards,

G.M

We spent 3 nights in Neptunes Beach Resort. The room was nice with a nice balcony. The meals were great. They have a nice swimming pool overlooking the beach. I really liked the African night dishes & dressing. The night entertainment was superb. I would recommend this hotel to any person.

It was our first trip to Kenya, we enjoyed very much, the hotel is not so big, we liked it very much, clean rooms, clean bathrooms. The room is not so big but very intimate and very nice. Special appreciation for hotel personnel, they are very kind and make you feel always welcome. The entertainment team is great, we enjoyed every evening show of them. You can book one day trips from the tourist office in the hotel (city tours, snorkeling, safari). Food is very tasty and good service. For sure we think to stay in this hotel for a future holiday.

Room Tip: Our room was on the north side, A/C ok, no noise from outside

This was our third trip to this hotel and our 15th to Kenya. We love this hotel. Ok it is not a 5 star hotel but the staff are, nothing is to much trouble if some thing is not right for you just say so and everything will be done to change it. I can assure you all any bad review or complaint is acted no and things are put right. There is always a manager on hand to talk to. The rooms are kept very clean and tidy and fresh water put in the kettle and flask. The outside areas are maintained to a very high standered if you would like to sit under the trees or right up overlooking the sea the two pool boys will sort this out no rushing for the beds in the morning. The bar is well stocked and maned no waiting for drinks. And yes the menus have been changed. Each night there is a roast meet (chicken, lamb beef pork) pasta fish and at least 2 other dishes including vegaterian. If there is something you would like to eat one night just ask the chef and they will do what they can to provide it for. As I said my wife and I love this hotel and we are not the only ones we go back each year and renew friendships with all the staff and other holiday makers from around the world. If you want a quite and relaxing holiday this is the place. Jambo Jambo to everyone there see you next year. Phil and Pat (Leicester)

What i loved about this hotel is that it was small and simple, if i left my sunglasses in my room i could go up to my room from the beach grab them and be back within 5 mins. It had all the basics needed to enjoy a holiday without being overwhelmed with the facilities. e.g. it has a nice pool, not three, i dont need 3. it has an all you can eat snack bar, but here's my first complaint, i visited this hotel twice within a month, the first time i had some amazing steak sandwiches and a shawarma, but on the second visit the menu changed to some below average club sandwiches and hotdogs that gave a very strong 'economy budget' feeling. my second complaint is in regard to the actual menu for dinner and lunch where over a 2 night 3 day stay we were served fish 4 times. thats too much fish for me.
the staff were very friendly, the biggest plus and the most encouraging reason for my return was the amazing animation team that entertained me on both my visits and made sure i had a healthy sport edge to my vacations.
i recommend this hotel to those who have a short trip in north coast mombasa, you will not regret it.
lastly if you do stay at this hotel you must visit the gp karting track next door, its a must!!

Room Tip: i stayed on both the right and left side of the halls, the rooms on the right were more spacious
