“Beautiful Isalo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2013

Isalo is fantastically beautiful. The only places on earth that might be comparable are some places in the American Southwest. The high dry climate combined with the stunning rocky mountain landscape and the green ribbons of vegetation lining the rivers makes photography a joy. Add to that a few lemurs and the culturally interesting local Barra tribe.

“Extraordinary!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2013

By now all my posts on Madagascar are starting to resemble themselves but there is simply so much there to must-see and this is one of them! We took a 4x4 and drove from Tana down to Tulear (Toliara); we went through Fianarantsoa (interesting Chinese influence here!), as most other main cities on the way but for the most part there was barely anything at all. Absolutely fantastic. After a while we thought we'd take a rest and stopped here. The walks in the mountains and swimming in the rock pools was magical and exactly what we needed before we continued on our adventure. Will hopefully be back one day.

“Rather hot walk!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2013

Great to get out walking in semi-desert with a guide to tell you about local customs as well as wildlife. Swimming in piscine naturale was great (until a large party arrived!) but best thing was to walk across to the river valley with the campsite where we saw Verreaux Sifika close-up and dancing!

“Goood”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013

Plenty of photo taking opportunities as well as lots of wildlife. Well kept, not many rocky areas, felt quite safe. Lots of lemurs though!
