When we walked into the beautiful wooden barn-like structure that holds the Roadhouse 169, we were pleasantly surprised. What a nice vibe the place and people had! We were looking for a cold beer, a nice glass of wine and a bit of relaxation. All our needs were instantly met.
As we approached the bar, we heard the bartender, who we later found out was the owner, call out to us in a southern drawl, "So, we've been talking here and we're trying to collect people's funnest moments since they arrived here in the country..."
That was the start of our very enjoyable time at the Roadhouse 169. Good beer and wine, the only good chips and salsa to be found in CR, and great conversations with the staff and owner, Bob Swanson. The setting was peaceful and serene during the day, and a bit more energized at night, very cool!
We really enjoyed the time we spent in Costa Rica as we also were very fortunate to break it up with a little time in this Costa Rican oasis.
