Owner description: A Canopy Tour® takes you on an unforgettable adventure as you slide from one platform to the next along a series of steel cables set amongst magnificent natural surroundings. It is widely regarded as one of the best eco-adventure activities in the world and is something for people of all ages with the youngest being 3 and the oldest 90 so far to do the tour. The concept of Canopy Tour originated in the rain forests of Costa Rica, where scientists were studying animals and birds in the Canopy Layer of the Forest. Safely sliding from tree to tree to a series of platforms became a novel way to see the flora and fauna of an indigenous forest. A whole new level of appreciation was born when the concept became one of South Africa’s most popular eco adventure activities. Karkloof canopy tour is only 1:30 from Durban, near Howick in the Midlands, this is a must do activity especially for nature lovers or adventure seekers looking to do something truly unique. Professional guides assure the safety of each group and point out interesting facts along the way. It’s ideal for team building, kid’s parties, family get-togethers, corporate events or just a fun day out. Open every day, with tours every half an hour from 8am to 3pm. Come experience one of South Africa’s fastest growing eco-adventures with thousands of satisfied thrill-seekers having already caught the bug.

“Breathtaking Experience...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2013 via mobile

Canopy Tour is an amazing experience even for someone who is scared of heights. It is not as intimidating as I thought. With the harness, instructions from the friendly team, you are good to go on a great adventure.

The team Percy, Siyabonga and Micheal were patient, funny, passionate in their work and took great pictures. Even when I wanted to give up and Siyabonga tandem carried me.

There are very beautiful views from the top - colourful birds, monkeys, waterfall, scenic views and a forest coming to live from harmonic sounds from the birds, monkeys and the gentle breeze.

It is a safe and fun way to open your eyes to the beauty that surrounds us.

“Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

Not for the faint hearted. Beautiful surroundings. Africa, White and for the life of me I can't remember the third persons name, were excellent hosts. My husband loved the experience. I on the other hand had the confidence to start with but on the 3rd try had to go with one of the instructors. It was a great laugh and although I was scared I was made to feel comfortable. Safety is of the utmost importance. All in all a great experience!

“Totaly Awesome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

Words cannot describe the feeling you get doing this.
When you arrive at the base station you are greeted by friendly, Professional staff.
It does not look like much from the base station, but the moment that Landy takes up the mountain side it all changes.
The "rabbit hole" the first slide is for you to get the feeling of it.......................well if that short little ride was like that, hold your breath for there is a lot more better one's to come.

All i can say is that once you've done it, you get the feeling to do it over again and again.......and again !!

As one famous actor puts it "I WILL BE BACK !"

So put on those takkies, grab your camera and head out to do it, DO IT NOW !!! you wont be sorry !
