“Outstanding service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

I stayed here while on a business trip, as were all of the other guests I met during my stay. The hotel is located in Durbanville, which is a quiet, safe suburb of Cape Town. The rooms are all different but mine was quite spacious and well appointed. The bed was firmly comfortable and there is a fridge (which also serves as a mini-bar) and microwave if you want to bring your own food.

The guest house provides a breakfast with a continental buffet and eggs cooked to order. There is a fixed-menu evening dinner that is offered on request but was very good on the evenings when I ate there. The Durbanville business district is only a couple of kms. away where there are many restaurant choices if you should want something different. Wireless internet is offered for a fee based on data consumption and I found the speed adequate. There is a small TV that only received about 5 channels. There is a safe provided that is OK for documents but is too small to fit a laptop.

What made this property truly special was Monica and her staff. They were always pleasant and seemed to proactively look after your needs. You certainly can't get this level of service at a large hotel.

Highly recommended.

I always stay there when on business trips. Excellent rooms, food & people that is always helpful. The area is quiet and tranquil and close to all major businesses. Rooms are clean and need.
Accounts are always correct and worth the money spend. I stay there from a couple of days to a couple of weeks and always had a pleasant experience.

I had the wonderful opportunity to stay at Cape Pillars two weeks last year. Monica and the entire staff were wonderful. We had great breakfasts each day out on the patio, plus we even had a really nice dinner there one evening. The rooms are absolutely wonderful - each of them is unique and quaint and special. I highly recommend you stay at Cape Pillars and enjoy its beauty and tranquility and top notch customer service.

I stumbled onto Cape Pillars by accident and they've managed to win me over as a lifetime client instantly. It was ideal for my business trip and when my family decided to make an unplanned overnight stay in Cape Town, the team (Monica, Carla and Elzaan) quickly transformed the honeymoon suite into a luxurious family room. I carried my sleeping children up the stairs and when they woke up the next morning, they enjoyed the room so much that they asked to stay longer.

My wife is the ultimate critic when it comes to overnight accommodation and she is of the oppinion that Cape Pillars is the best place we've stayed at....ever. Everything was spotless and clean, lots of attention to detail and the hospitality unmatched. And great Cuppuccinos!!

I will definitely return, be it for business or with the family.

I have had huge dissappointments in terms of making reservations on line. Arriving at your destination you hope to find that there is a resemblance between the website pictures and reality. Well, what a lovely surprise. Cape Pillars is a boutique guesthouse that lives up to the logo of sophisticated elegance and infinite luxury, but yet you feel immediately at home. Thanks for a wonderful time.
