I was somewhat concerned ,after having booked the Hotel Continental in Nago - Torbola to read some unfavourable reports on this website. I booked it for my family , seven of us travelling including a 7 month baby. But I was very pleased to find the hotel was much better than some descriptions. It was very clean, the staff are very friendly and they tried their very best to ensure holiday makers are happy. The village itself is very nice small quiet and at tthe top of a steep hill overlooking the lake. We enjoyed the walk down into Torbola, there are two distinct paths, one on a quiet road the other an old cobbled road through olive groves lovely walk for the fit. I do think for those who do not enjoying walking they may find this hotel out of the way but it does run a minibus into the town once a day there and back. Overall we all had a very enjoyable holiday and would most certainly come back to both the region and this hotel.

we booked here for a honeymoon and was very disappointed we were put in a room that i can only describe as a basement dungeon the carpets were threadbare and stained broken tiles and dirty grey towels in the bathroom in was very dark and horribly as you opened the back door we were almost in the pool with people sitting outside our room after a big row with thomsons we walked out and booked ourselves into the regina adelaide which is by far the best hotel in garda, we did meet some people who stayed at the continental and they said it was ok apart from the food but they had several room changes and only stayed there because they got a cheap deal

The location of this hotel is absolutely beautiful ,set at the top of Lake Garda with stunning views and the village of Nago is charming. Unfortunately the hotel does not live up to the expectations that one has of a 4 star hotel. The hotel lobby and reception area is cluttered with odd pieces of furniture and numerous plants. The swimming pool is at the back of the hotel and is far too small for the number of guests but can only be reached by walking over dirty old bits of soggy carpet. The rooms were not paricularly clean and fitments in the bathroom were broken.
The food was not at all appetising and was very much like eating in a canteen.
I was so disappointed with this hotel and quite upset as I had taken my mum there to help her get over the death of my father and I had to ask the tour operator to move us to another hotel which they did without any problem. We were not the only guests who asked to move hotel.
I feel that this hotel should not be graded as 4 star as compared to other 4 star hotels that I have stayed in this falls way below the standard.

The rooms were OK and the location was what was expected but any
resemblance to a 4 star hotel was purely coincidental. The dining room
and the meals were poor to say the least. Although the brochure stated
that there was a choice of 3 main courses this was NEVER the case and
we constantly had to request various dishes (even bread) to be replenished
at breakfast. Talk about portion control! We have stayed at some wonderful 4 star hotels in Italy. This was certainly not one of them. Don't
bother!
