“Lovely Hotel in Paris”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 weeks ago

This was our first trip to Paris. We choose this hotel based on a review for the newspaper The Globe & Mail.
It is a smaller hotel (50 rooms ) located a few steps away from L'Arc de Triomphe et Les Champs Elysees. It was recently renovated . It has still the charm of a parisian hotel with all the modern conveniences. It is also an expensive hotel.
This trip was to celebrate a few important milestones in our lives and we had decided to "splurge".
There aren't any complains about the hotel. It was very clean and very well located for our needs. The staff was very helpful. There is a restaurant but we didn't eat there.
I would highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed in this delightful hotel for 1 night whilst visiting Abbe -saint -Martin du Canijou. The owner showed us to our room & explained everything to us in perfect English. The room was clean & comfortable and the bathroom was very nice too.We had all our meals ie Lunch, evening meal and breakfast the next day as the menus were excellent and very reasonably priced. We would love to visit this area again & would definitely stay in The Princess hotel. Our booking was made in the name of Glenda Curzon,Jo & Terry Powell

Room Tip: Rooms on the south side are quieter

Beautiful setting for this small hotel.

Loved the fact that the receptionist took us to our room which was quite spacious - nice view from the tiny balcony.
Room was clean, nicely but simply decorated but bed a bit hard for my taste. Modern bathroom but hairdryer was not great.
Odd thing: on check out day, while we were off having coffee we came back to the room to find that our bed had been made by 10 am! Our things had just been moved aside.
Unique point of interest, in view of our room: there was a public and free laundry across the street supplied by hot/warm water from the springs. Bring your own soap and elbow grease!
Enjoyed this hotel and would love to return to do some hiking in the area.

Room Tip: 2nd floor rooms have smaller balconies but better views. 1st floor balconies are larger.

An excellent hotel with a very friendly and helpful French & English speaking owner. Rooms are very clean, bright and attractive. Good value. There is an elevator.

A cold buffet breakfast was available for 10.50 euros. Dinner was excellent but the menu was limited.

Arriving very late in the evening without reservation, the owners-couple were very attentive to accomodate us and more. The smallest room in the hotel was available en suited us just fine. The bed was very confortable, the bathroom tiny but sufficient. We needed to confirm our flight back and when the public computer was working too slow we were assisted by the owner on their own 'system'. Great service. After a good night sleep a complete breakfast was waiting for us. If you like to feel the atmosphere of the Pyrinees, like to walk, visite beautifull nature and abbeys in the neighbourhood, or Villefrance this is an ideal starting point.

Accross the street you will find a washing place (hot and cold natural water) where the local people can do their washing (cloths), in the town square we saw some people do the Sardena (traditional dance) ... pure living.

Room Tip: Looking over the courtyard/terrace rooms may have to overhear the people using the terrace (restaura...

Good clean, well serviced hotel in the village of Vernet Les Bains. I was traveling to meet with family who live in the village and the location of the hotel was perfect for this.

The hotel would however be well suited to being a base for various sight seeing or outdoor activities as the mountains are right on the doorstep.

I booked a large double room which had a balcony with a stunning view of the mountains and lots of living space. My mother and sister booked a smaller twin room which was a little cramped so it's worth checking with the hotel or online service what you are actually booking as there is a clear difference in room sizes.

The breakfast was fairly standard continental fare so a little boring after three days! Local cafe's open early so you may prefer this option of you're staying for longer than a weekend.

The staff were all attentive and very friendly. They spoke good English which helped as my rudimentary French would not have got me very far otherwise.

Having booked the Princess for our visit to the mountains and the Petit Jaune railway, we were pleasantly surprised by the hospitality of the owner who up graded us to mountain view rooms and was very helpful in accommodating our every need including moving tables on the terrace to catch the last rays of sun and modifying the menu to cope with my wife's fussy eating!

We had a lovely time and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel in the mountains.
