“Beautiful location but the food and service don't live up to it”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

I ate here with my family and friends. When we walked upto thw restaurant I thought this was going to be magical. A fantastic setting in which to eat. Unfortunately the food wasnt really to up the same standard. Many of the menu descriptions were not accurate or clear. We had six starters of which none were of a good quality. As an example one of my children had a fish starter which turned out to be pieces of raw fish. The main courses were all competently cooked and tasty but nothing special. Service was not good. They were slow to take orders and slow to bring our food, so much so that the kids decided not to have dessert. The worst part was that the room became incredibly hot and stuffy but the staff would not or could not do anything about it.

“Not to miss restaurant in Quimperle!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

We ate dinner here two nights in a row with our friends and I have to say they were two of the best meals we had during our three week trip in France. Reservations are a must unless you eat before 6:30pm. Both evenings it was full and people were turned away. Especially charming is walking the flower-draped bridge over the water to enter the restaurant. There are also a few tables on the bridge for outdoor dining but we had one of the few window tables which gave us the great view. The service is outstanding and the cost reasonable for the experience of dining in this wonderful place.

“Delicious traditional french cuisine at a fair price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2012

This delightful restaurant has a short main menu, augmented by both fish and meat plat du jours, an entree du jour, a dessert du jour, an apero du jour and a wine of the month, demonstrating how seriously they take their food and drink. The food is traditional and authentic and by concentrating on fewer dishes, they do not need to resort to brought-in catering-firm sauces and desserts.

We ate there twice in three days, because we loved the food so much. Both times we relished the chocolate and banana "crumble" (more like a refridgerator cake) served at the table with flambeed rum raisins. It was devine. The children had good quality fresh fish. We feasted on foi gras, gratineed oysters and the delicious plat du jours.

The main room includes the bar and some lovely tables by the large window overlooking the river. A low-ceilinged, windowless room near the entrance has less charm. In fair weather, there are a few tables available outside on the bridge.

“Lovely setting to bring Your Wife”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012 via mobile

Very lovely setting for varied menu and excellent service. Get there when it opens at 7:00 or make a reservation as restaurant will fill up. Dine outside on bridge weather permitting or inside with river views. Decent wine prices allow wine pairings or waitress will suggest some, and they were on target each time. Scallops were excellent for my wife or canard in honey sauce.

“A real surprise!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2012 via mobile

A real find. The chef produces excellent food with a lot of eye appeal. The front of house, led by the chef/owners wife is attentive and welcoming. Excellent ambiance. As we live near to Quimperlé, this restaurant has become one of our favourites. The husband and wife owners are both charming and deserve the success that they are having. Robert & Sandy Edwards.
