Stayed July 2013, for 3 nights.
Found this place thanks to Declan (ranger of his own, son of Manaar House Umhlanga managers) - big thanks! Umzolozolo is 3-4 hour drive away from either Jo'burg or Durban, or mere 1+ hour drive from Drakensberg. When you book they provide you with good driving directions so if you follow these (or GPS coordinates) you'll be OK. Just don't drive around Nambiti (as Emma and Owen did :-)
On arrival you're met by your ranger and shown to your hut. Man, it's awesome! Spacious room, huge bed, nice bathroom plus external shower as well. Satellite TV is available if you can't sleep, so is a very reasonably priced minibar (if you usually stay in Marriotts and Sheratons of this world you'll say "it's super-cheap!").
For your money you get two game drives a day (during my stay we saw rhinos, cheetah, lions, buffalos, rather distant ellies in a valley and tons of giraffes and antilopes everywhere), three tasty and oh-so-big meals (cold and/or hot breakfast, buffet-style lunch and dinner almost-a-la-carte, you get 3 choices to pick from), swimming pool with a view (it was too cold to use it but otherwise...!) and friendly, personal service. What's not to like?
Worth every penny.
PS. Review asks for "fitness center" rating. There's no fitness center - camp is not fenced, if you run around like crazy, then animals will eat you, end of story :-)
