“What a stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2012

5 nights at the resort is the least we can stay, 5 nights means 10 games.
Far away from the Kruger crowd, even during the hight season, very rare to cross the jeeps from the other lodges. Very good contacts between the Rangers, whom are informing each others on nice thinks to see and never more than 2 jeeps on the same lock.
The resort itself, is just outstanding. Sleeping under tents is just stunning. Feeling like rangers yourself with all 5* confort.
Food is OK and service impeccable.
Big thanks to Wendy (lodge mgr) and Lee (with or without beard Ranger)

Had an amazing time - we were so lucky with the game drives and saw 4 of the 5 over a 3 day period (plus Cheetah). It was my first safari and I can't recommend Nambiti and Springbok highly enough. Several of my friends are veterans of safaris and are all jealous of how much we saw and the quality of the game drives we went on.

Our game ranger "Dave" was simply brilliant and made the holiday. He was extremely informative and got the perfect balance of getting us into the action and telling us about the environment.

The concept of "Glaming" (glamorous camping) was great. The rooms were well specified and very comfortable. The aircon kept the rooms at the right temperature and the outside shower a real novelty. A very nice touch is that they run you a bath each night so you can relax after your game drive.

Room Tip: We were in Tent 1 and was on the outside edge of the camp. I think all the tents are good, but I did...

Stayed here for four nights and cannot say how amazing it was. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and go out of their way to meet your needs. The "tents" were very comfortable and had everything we needed. The baths are amazing!!
Our ranger, David, was extremely informative and ensured that he gave us as much information about what we were seeing as he could.
The game drives were spectacular and comfortable with blankets and hot water bottle provided as the mornings and evenings get very cold in the winter.
We managed to see four out of the big five plus loads more including cheetah.
The food was amazing! Three course meals full of beautifully cooked food.
Thank you to everyone who made this experience one of a lifetime. What a special place this is and I hope to be able to return again!

What a fabulous place! The lodge is superb, with all the luxuries you could dream of. The "tents" are more comfortable and better fitted out than most hotel rooms I have stayed in. We were there during a particularly cold snap and the tents were lovely and warm with central heating and electric blankets. The bar and restaurant are tastefully decorated and very cosy. The staff are ALL warm and friendly, while remaining extremely professional and conscientious at all times. Booking over the internet was extremely straightforward, and communications and transactions were completed in a very expeditious manner. The food was outstanding and the chef and his staff delivered delicious five star meals, three times a day. The scenery is exquisite, with many different terrains. While the reserve is clearly young, we saw plenty of animals. We were there for three nights and saw many different species of antelope, hippo, serval, lion, elephant, white rhino, buffalo and cheetah. We were a group of 11, ranging in age from 12 to 76 and Springbok Lodge exceeded all of our expectations in every way. None of us us can wait to go back!

We booked The Springbok lodge for 2 40th Birthday Parties. The whole experience from quoting through to check out was outstanding!!! Lee-Ann saw to it that all my strange requests were taken care of and made all my guests feel welcomed! Brett and his hospitality staff were just brilliant! The Chef deserves an award or 6 as her meals were just fabulous! I think some of the guests will be returning just to have that Fillet with Peppercorn Sauce again and the creme brule!

The park itself is very young, but has the ability to become one of the best game viewing reserves in South Africa once it has matured! We were blessed by seeing, Lions, Elephants, Rhino's, hippo's, Eland, Gemsbok, Hartebees, Wildebesst - Black & Blue-, Lots and Lots of Kudu, giraffe and had the wonderful opportunity of spending two hours with the reserves 2 Wild Cheetah! Our guides were very informative and very patient explaining in great detail to the little guys we had with us (5 yrs & 3yrs).

I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to experience a good bushveld weekend to visit Nambiti Plains & The Springbok Lodge!

Make sure you bring lots of warm clothes as it is rather chilly on the game drives! The best part on returning is either the yummy breakfast waiting for you in the morning, or a steaming bubble bath in the evenings!

Room Tip: Any tent on the Wooden Platform!

My husband and I stayed there last November for my birthday. It was an unforgetable experience. First class treatment from our ranger and all the staff. A night at the Springbok Lodge is excellent value for money. We truly enjoyed and can not recommend it enough.
Take something warm to wear as it does get cold in the evenings on the game drive. We were fortunate that our ranger was so thoughtful he arranged for a warm bath and a sherry to be ready in our tent for when we returned. Loved every minute of it.

Room Tip: They are all great tents............

The Nambiti Reserve is relatively young, but under the guidance of our very knowledgeable ranger we saw all sorts of game, many at close range including cheetah, elephant, rhino, hippo and all types of antelope. The Lodge itself is very comfortable, stylish..... and unpretentious. We were looked after extremely well and all of the staff were friendly and helpful. There were two choices for each course at dinner, which, as with every meal, was beautifully served and delicious. The tented accomodation was faultless...private and luxuriously appointed, with electric blankets, air-con and a bath drawn each night for us on return from the afternoon game drive. We stayed for five nights...perhaps longer than most guests....but we felt this stay was the highlight of our three week holiday in South Africa.
