We stayed here recently with our toddler for our honeymoon. The location is fairly quite which on this occasion suited us however pre child we would have found this a bit remote. There isnt much on nearby Costa Rei.
The first room we were being taken too was facing the outside of the ground and I new immediately I wasnt keen. When I saw the stained wall next to jacuzzi I said no straight away. The 2nd room taken too was much more as we expected. In fact really the 'Royal Suite' we had was really good, huge terrace on 3 sides, great with a little one, good sized bedroom and living room. Excellent really. Very clean and twice daily maid service as promised.
Food was very good, suited hubby who isnt a sea food fan. We did make a complaint however as the week went on and resort got busier the service went down hill rapidly. from then on it was buffet most evenings which we really didnt mind.
We didnt find it over priced at all considering. About 5 euro for nice large glass of wine.
Found it difficult to feed our boy at his regular meal times, they were most obliging in swapping his included evening meal for lunch time which was always delicious and if nothing suited they would make a imple pasta dish as alternative. The baby room - intended for up tp 2 years is really better suited for babies and not toddlers. we only used the microwave and replenished his water. there was never a pot of casserole / soup to help ourselves to as the tour ops said there would be.
Beaches simply stunning, particularly before the larger noisier resort popped up just along the beach!! Got noisey in evening.Didnt mind not being directly on the beach, the short mini car ride was fun.
Staff all really friendly, only few spoke good english.
Another gripe - our jacuzzi never worked. Even after complaining 3 times throughout our stay. it needed parts. It was one reason we selected this place knowing we wouldnt be staying out too late in evenings. It didnt spoil anything though.
We made couple of complaints and must say that despite not getting immediate feedback, acknowledgement of our concerns, the customer service was ultimately very very fair.
overall a really beautiful setting, the hills as the backdrop, the lovely gardens and spacious quite grounds. great suite, good food, nice local wines, beautiful pool and stunning beach. perfect for little ones. Another notes - there was always a lifeguard at the pool and at the beach. lovely friendly ones at that.
