“Enchanting stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2013

Having only stayed here as a quick stopover to the following destination I can only say that we'd wished we were going to be staying for longer. Arriving fairly late in the evening it was a pure pleasure to still have some light to be able to enjoy the view of the cottage and the loch. The welcome was very friendly and the free drams of whisky for the men before retiring topped of a long, eventful day.
The bedroom was perfect & the view of the loch enchanting. Things only got better when after a very comfortable nights sleep we joined the other guests for an excellent breakfast & lively conversation. Perfect cottage, perfect proprietors, perfect view, perfect price.

A lovely little B&B - we stayed in the Cranny, which was a cosy comfortable room decorated with vintage nik-naks and with a view looking out over Loch Lomond.
We loved the friendly welcome from Donnie and Coleen, secure parking, homely feel, comofy beds, Loch view, delicious breakfast, interior of the lounge/room, complimentary dram and value for money.
I suppose the shower could have been a bit more powerful but that's nit-picking really. Would thoroughly recommend this place

We only stayed 1 night but it was excellent. Colleen and Donnie very helpful and welcoming. Excellent room, breakfast and location. Pity about the rain on Friday morning!! Location is brilliant overlooking the Loch. Would definitely recommend and will return on any future trip to Scotland.

When you mix waterfront location, cosy furnishings, delicious cuisine and Scottish hospitality you get this magnificent place called Water's Edge Cottage. Colleen is a wonderful host and her husband Donnie has a Bonnie sense of humour. It's a quiet little haven with a private car park and central enough for you to go any of the attractions around Loch Lomond district. The complimentary whiskey was a nice treat and you felt like you were in another world with the atmosphere in the guest lounge and dining room. Well appointed and nothing was too much trouble. Very welcoming.

Room Tip: The Cottage Suite has its own sitting room with a bay window that has views to Loch Lomond. The bedr...

When we arrived at watersedge cottage my partner and I were speechless at how beautiful and truly romantic the cottage was.. we couldn't have asked for more of a perfect place to unwind. It has beautiful veiws accross the lake and the interior of the b&b is just as beautiful- Coleen and donnie have deocrated it with such delicate details which matches the beauty of the whole the location. Their hospitality was excellent and they are lovely people. We felt very welcome and enjoyed the chats at breakfast.. which i forgot to mention was made beautifully- i loved the menu each morning.. ! It really was.. simply perfect.. so thank Donnie and Coleen we will hopfully be seeing you again next year!

The best B & B, waterfront villa has three private gardens, secluded lake house, the white pavilion in the courtyard and fountain, trimmed into a peacock holly, filled with antiques and handicrafts any details are showing elegant and refined, and the bathroom has a skylight! The master donni is very hospitality, very delicious English breakfast, I can not imagine how to do better. Very suitable for honeymoon and vacation, as walk to balloch town is a long way, I think its more suitable for self-drive tourists.

Room Tip: Upstairs is better
