We spent 5 days at Rarotonga Beach Bungalows and it was definitely not long enough! We absolutely loved our Beachfront Bungalow (Onu). Tom has put his personal touch into all aspects of this property. We were impressed with the solid construction and all the Polynesian furnishings. So much thought has been put into everything with little extras like the carvings on the deck posts. Every corner of the entire property is kept amazingly clean and neat. You can tell that all staff members take great pride in their work. We had the privilege of meeting Luckey, Lydia and Miriam who were all so friendly and made our stay special with their kindnesses. Every morning we looked forward to the Island breakfast in the Totara Lounge. We encountered no mosquitoes during our time at the bungalows, even though they were present elsewhere on the island.
Everyone should experience a Beachfront Bungalow at least once in their lifetime and it can't get much better than this!

We had an excellent stay at RBB - Tom and Lucky were very hospitable and made it hard to leave. The location is gorgeous and I could live forever on the deck, with that amazing view of the lagoon. The breakfasts are simple, but good, and the bungalows are clean and nice. It's very peaceful and a perfect place to get away from everything. Most of the other hotels we saw on Raratonga seemed much older and not nearly as charming. We've traveled extensively and will highly recommend this place to our friends!

My wife and I recently (we just returned from the Cook Islands today as a matter of fact) had the pleasure of staying at the Rarotonga Beach Bungalows. The entire stay was so above and beyond anything either of us could of hoped for! The bungalows were gorgeous, clean and very well kept. Lucky (I am sure I am spelling her name wrong for which I am very sorry) treated us like royalty from the moment we checked in (an early check-in at 6am) until we checked out. My wife and I ended up sleeping a bit after the flight, the early check-in day, and missed the buffet breakfast. Lucky was so concerned we would go hungry she brought a papaya to our room!

The greeting was great.

The bungalows were superb with great big decks overlooking the ocean/lagoon, even if you are in a bungalow further back, you will not miss the view. The bed was a bit hard, but that is the only complaint I have! Full fridge, microwave and fresh drinking water.

The resort itself was super clean and swept daily. The kayaks, for free use, were in great shape. We brought our own snorkel equipment so did not use theirs so cannot comment on it.

The entry to the resort and view from the road were very spectacular and given the lack of streetlights on the island, as one would expect, the lighting hung up around the resort entry (the tubular christmas lights) certainly helped with finding the place on a dark night driving home from an Island Night.

We would relish the opportunity to go back. Even in September, the end of the Cook Islands winter, it was a bit cooler than the summer but we still got some beautiful days, tans and the good stuff without the bugs and humidity (hear they can be bad in the summer but cannot comment on that)

    • Liked — The overall feel we received that we were indeed important to the owner. We felt special!
    • Disliked — The lack on internet was hard, but part of the reason we came to islands was to get away, plus the cost of the internet is very high for the islanders as it is.

If you need to get away and relax this is the place to do it. The RBB offered spacious comfortable accommodation with the beach front bungalows having large verandahs overlooking the lagoon. Our Hosts Tom and Lucky make you feel very much and home and are happy to sit and talk about the island and what it has to offer.

We hired a scooter to explore the rest of the island as the bus service only runs every two hours and only 1 hour after 6 pm which makes it difficult to visit all the lovely restaurants Raratonga has to offer.

Dont miss a meal at Tamarin House - lovely for lunch and a very romantic dinner venue.

Shopping for Pearls can become a little overwhelming with every shop having numerous colours and shapes. I can recommend a visit to Klassic Pearls, where you will be given an insight to how pearls are farmed. The pearls come direct from the owners own Pearl Farm and the prices are more than reasonable.

This was our second visit to Raratonga and we look forward to returning to RBB.

My wife and I just returned from the most fabulous honeymoon. Raratonga Beach Bungalows had everything we were looking for and more! The location is the best on the island for snorkeling and swimming. The "mini resort" has kayaks, snorkel gear, and loads of sunshine! Tom, the owner is fabulous and really went out of his way to make our month long stay unforgetable. Lucky is by the far the "meat and potatoes" of this place. She is so much fun to talk with and so knowledgeable about the islands. The whole team that works at the resort is first class and treats all guests with the utmost respect. Here is a little break down of the resort.

Bungalows:
Self catering, fridge, gas stove, large tubs of purified water supplied, amazing bathroom with HUGE garden shower(always had hot water and tons of pressure to get the sand of!), a/c in the bedroom with a super comfy king size bed, satelite TV, the best part of the bungalows was the deck, facing the ocean with loads of room to lay around and eat dinners on. Definately exceeded our expectations!

Staff:
The whole team is so welcoming and accomodating. They really make you feel like part of the family. They also will stop at nothing to help you anyway they can. One thing my wife and I liked was that they gave you the privacy when you wanted it and were there to help you if needed. FIRST CLASS!

Resort:
Location is by far the best on the island. Beautiful clean white sand beach that never seems to end. Crystal clear water with loads of fish and coral. Close by local family owned farms for fresh fruits and veggies. CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN!

We will definately be back and would recommeded this wonderful place to anyone looking to have an amazing holiday!
