“Tropical beach classic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2013

The snorkeling here is great, the further out to the reef it gets better. If you want a classic coconut tree/coral sand/surf on the reef this cannot get any better. Be prepared to relax and chill out!!

“Great snorkelling”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2013

Very shallow & very cold water when we were there. Not a swimming beach & shoes are a must as there is lots of scoria/coral. Younger family braved the cold water; more senior watched them play!

“Why go elsewhere for snorkeling? plus, here it's free!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2013

We fully agree with the enthusiastic remarks of other reviewers: if you love snorkeling for blue starfish, tropical fish, marine worms etc., then you cannot miss this beach; we suggest the western part of it, just after the bus stop of White Sands. In addition, the water level is very low, so even poor swimmers like us and children are safe; of course, you need the usual attention: wear shoes etc., but then, you can see starfish even just standing in the water at 10 meters from the beach!.
We have subsequently tried other places, for instance the expensive one day Aitutaki tour; but in terms of snorkeling, we did not see much more than what we had seen in Titikaveka. (Aitutaki offers other things, so we liked the tour anyway)

Brilliant location, this is definitely the side of the island to stay on! About halfway round, fabulous beach and easy walking to anywhere you like!
