We've been to Corbridge a few times over the years but this is the first time we've eaten at the Black Bull and, to be honest, we are kicking ourselves for never having visited earlier! The pub itself has a warm, welcoming, country pub feel and, although there are plenty of seats to be had, I can imagine it gets very busy in the Summer months.
We skipped on a starter and headed straight for the mains where we had the 'Pan-seared duck breast in a sage and honey sauce' and the 'Chicken breast on haggis'. The food was delicious and we both agreed that they were among the best meals we had ever eaten. Although feeling comfortably full at this point, I couldn't resist a dessert and opted for the 'Sticky toffee and date pudding' and again, this was top notch.
The only problem we have with the meals is that both of our mains choices were on the specials board so we fear that they won't be available the next time we go - please get these meals on the regular menu Black Bull!
