A very nice hotel in a very nice town - Holzkirchen. Hotel was quiet, clean and the breakfast was excellent (one of the best coffee a traveller can drink in Germany - take this as a personal opinion) and about 15 minutes walk to the train station (from here you can go directly to Munich in about 1 hour). Staff is friendly and helpful and wear the bavarian dress. Do not worry if it will be raining during your stay (as it happened to me); they have umbrellas, too.

Stayed here for 2 nights for work in August. Staff are friendly, and sometimes wear the bavarian dress. Breakfast was good, and rooms were good size with nice balcony (at least when you stay on the backside you have a nice balcony).
Free car parking for guests, and about a 10 minute walk to the trainstation, where you can get the S5 directly into Munich in about 50 mins, or a regional hourly in about 40 minutes.

Holzkirchen itself is not a very exciting place, and I stayed there only because of work. However it is about 30 mins away from a large lake, and close to Munich.
