“COLD COLD COLD”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013 via mobile

This Hotel is freezing to have to ask twice for the heating to be put on is terrible especially in January.
If you do have to stay in this hotel ask for a room at the rear as the market hall clock strikes every hour throughout the night.
At breakfast don't ask for a sandwich as they don't do them. They will however provide you with bacon and bread!?

Stayed at the hotel over christmas it was a great experience and we will come back next year. The staff were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble, great customer service! The hotel was nicely decorated for christmas. The room was very nice spacious, lovely, warm and cosy throughout our stay.the hotel had two lovely fire places in the bar and lounge area the hotel has so much character. The breakfast, lunch and dinner was first class, we had a three course dinner the first night, 5 course christmas day lunch followed by a buffet in the evening, boxing day we had carvery and a hot and cold buffet in the evening.

Room Tip: ask for a superior room

The Hotel management need to realise that in this day and age, you should not have to ask for the T.V. changer and no guest should enter a cold room in the winter months, nor should you have to ask for a fan heater.. A lesson in good British hotel guest relationship is required to be taken by the management, so that they understand what is expected, e.g. that the bath and shampoo sachets, be replenished each day.
A wi-fi booster is required for the upper rooms, to ensure continuous connection.
The hotel rooms are well decorated and most have en-suite facilities and there is plenty of hot water.
The staff are polite and helpful.
The food is good and plentiful, with excellent full English breakfast.
For the price, with the exception of the heating and T.V. fiasco, it is reasonable and with a little work and education, could jump a star.

Room Tip: A room overlooking the courtyard, is recommended, as the square at the front can be a little noisy i...

Staff were very friendly, the room was clean, quite warm and comfortable and considering the hotel is in the High Street, it's amazingly quiet- you don't hear any traffic. Food was lovely, best I've had in years travelling all over the country as I work all over England and Wales. Overall the hotel is very good value for money and I will come back for sure if I ever work around Brackley again.

This hotel is cold, COLD I say!

You would think paying £60+ per night guaruntees some central heating... it was on 2 hours in morning and 2 hours in evening.

Do not go here unless its summer!

Apart from that its a very wonly building and literally my keys and remote control would fall of the side table if placed there!

Owner is a tight g*t so doesnt deserve your cash.

Go elsewhere if you can, or, bring an electric heater with you

I have stayed in hotels all over the world but the Crown is a first. You have to ask for a remote control for you tv and on the two rooms we booked this week they had no remotes for neither TV's in the rooms, what was worse was that you could not change channels on the TV them selfs. The heating is unbelievably bad, I have never been so cold at nigh in a hotel room.

We stayed here for one night and overall had a very pleasant experience. The accomodation was very clean and tidy and very reasonable for the price we paid. The only complaint would be that the room was very cold when we first got in there. The food was very reasonable for the price and was nice to eat in a cosy bar area with open fire. The staff were very helpfull and friendly.
