“Something different”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2012

The whole menu consists of foods and wines that are sourced within a 100 mile radius of the restaurant. Hency the name meaning 'local eater' .Very innovative, wines a little on the dear side.

“Local Food-not great experience”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2012

We tried to dine at Locavore on a Saturday evening (Oct 2012). Unfortunately they had hired out their upstairs area for a 21st party.... for the rest of the diners the loud music and poor behaviour from the party goers made for a very unpleasant experience. We ended up sitting outside and had little attention from diners downstairs with parties upstairs. We ended up leaving quickly. We had been to this restaurant on a couple of other occasions and it is a bit hit and miss with loudness of the music inside (hard to converse) and with the quality of the food...and the attitude of the staff..it has been quiet enough to converse a few times with decent service and food but at least half the time it is not...a couple of the staff have real attitudes...I would therefore not bank on this place for an important occasion. We need more sophisticated eateries in the Stirling area especially on Friday and Saturday nights! CC

“Classy local food and setting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2012

This is a stylish restaurant serving local produce in season, in a smallish, intimate setting on the main street of the very pretty Adelaide Hills town, Stirling. The emphasis is on HIlls produce with a range from not so pricey too what you expect to pay in a good restaurant in the city. The wine range concentrates on Hills wines - a huge choice, some by the glass. It takes commitment to present such a selective menu but they manage to provide delicious food and atmosphere - definitely worth the experience.

“we love it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

We first came here a few months ago and have been back several time since. The specials are always really original and interesting, and the service is friendly and informal. Can get very busy Fri/sat nights.

“Expensive and poor service”

$6 for water, 10 for chips come on, avoid go to the market cafe around the corner if I was you. Service people all looked angry like they didn't want anyone there
