“Well worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2013

Jan the guide, was excellent. The caves are man made over many hundreds of years taking out limestone for building such places as Exeter Cathedral. Starting at the entrance with Roman miners we moved back into the caves been kept interested with stories of miners of more recent times. The size of them is quite amazing. Not open in the winter due to the bats! But a constant low temperature throughout the year. Ponchos are provided if you are ill equipped, and hard hats. So nice that it is not over commercialized. Use the loo in the free car park, there are not any more. Only complaint; nowhere to sit and for some folk like me an hours tour standing can be a strain. As it appears to be the same stop off points it would help to have a few benches. These are timed tours so suggest you check their website before going.

“Great tour that gave you a look into another age.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

The tour guide was knowledgeable, humorous, and enthusiastic--lots of fascinating information amid the chilly world in the caves. We were very pleased with this tour, much more interesting than anticipated. Highly recommended for adults and mature children.

“Fascinating and well presented”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013

We didnt know what to expect but the guided tour, for £7, was fascinating and really well presented. The tour guide was outstanding and showed real enthusiasm for the subject.

Knowing that it gets a bit chilly in the caves, they offer free ponchos to borrow which is very thoughtful.

Parking is free and the coffee shop very cheap and friendly.

Highly recommended.
