This little hotel offers basic, clean, and functional studios and apartments in a low rise attractively pastel decorated terraced block. Our expectations were not particularly great especially as we had paid modest prices and the initial impression of the hotel's street frontage and cafe restaurant appearance was not exactly contemporary or particularly favourable- Perhaps a modest makeover would remedy this aspect. On arrival however any reservations were quickly dispelled as we and other guests were made to feel valued with an enthusiastic and very warm welcome with a refreshing drink which set the tone for a very pleasant and enjoyable stay for us and other guests we encountered.
The rooms are very clean and fairly well equipped with better than average utensils and crockery etc and two electric rings - only missing a kettle but that would be the norm for Greece.
This hotel is well located within the resort opposite the tourist train station with easy access to beach, shopping and many acceptable restaurant/tavernas. A bus stop is within a few metres of the hotel giving easy access to Chania and other parts of Crete via frequent and reasonably priced public transport.
Our room was cleaned daily to a good standard with sheets changed once during the 7 night stay. Towels were of good quality and changed once during the week but no pool towels are provided. The attractive pool was cleaned regularly and there were adequate numbers of sunbeds, A ground floor bar area and an attractive upper level deck with plenty of tables and chairs.proved perfect for catching the evening sun.
Prices are modest and other guests were happy with the fare on offer. The hotel rates are reasonable but this means optional extras e.g. hotel safe and air-con are chargeable.
The hotel is owned and managed by a very friendly Greek born brother and sister who spent significant years living in Canada making for easy, relaxed communication and interaction with guests. The bar concession is very successfully run by a young Englishwoman (Tracey) who has to be commended for the tireless work and energy she applies in a very natural and genuine way to ensuring her guest have an enjoyable time. It seemed no request was too much trouble - well done !
Overall this was a very enjoyable week in an hotel which punched well above its weight.
We recommend giving it a try and would be surprised if you didn't feel positive about it too.
