“Fabulous from start to finish.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2014

From the airport pick-up to the advice on bus times back to the airport, the family team at Folia Apartments has it right. Stop looking for other hotels and just book at this place.

The best part about this place is the people who run it. Unbelievably friendly and helpful. Always around to answer questions and make suggestions. It is a family run business and it shows.

Spent three nights at Folia and it was fabulous. Located in Agia Marina about a five-minute walk to the nice beach and bus stop, and about two minutes to a good supermarket. Rooms are cozy with balconies, stovetop, A/C, and a fridge. Breakfast is basic, but good, and the pool is very nice. Did not eat other meals at the facility because we went out, but the customers looked satisfied.

From Agia Marina bus stop, you can go anywhere. Chania, the airport, or even as far as Kissamos Port if you're interested in a boat trip to Balos/Gramvousa (highly recommended).

This place is not on the actual beachfront, but it's close and in a quieter part of the neighborhood away from the noisy traffic.

Thank you for a great stay.

Room Tip: Many rooms have views of the sea from the balcony.

The moment we arrived we knew we'd made the right decision on our accommodation.

We parked our car in the covered car park at the top and headed down to reception where we were warmly welcomed by the brothers that run it.

Our room was a good size with a double bed which can be unusual in Greece. We had specially requested a room with a sunny balcony, which they remembered. The room was spotlessly clean and cleaned every day we were there. The fridge can be noisy at times, but either earplugs or retsina (or both) will do the trick on that score.

We hadn't planned on having breakfast there at all, but when we saw the breakfast on offer, we ended up having it there everyday. The simple choice was sufficient for us (breads, cakes, pies, eggs, meats, cheese, fruit, yoghurt and cereal, washed down with lashings of coffee) and set us up for the day.

The family who run it, and their friend who runs the bar, were kind enough to allow us to practice our Greek on them, and had some excellent local beer that would rival any hipster micro brewery in Camden.

Location wise it was sufficiently away from the main strip to feel out of town, but in reality the walk is a matter of minutes, as is the beach. Even though it was windy on the beach a couple of days, the hotel was set back enough that we were sheltered from the wind and could lounge by the lovely pool enjoying those Cretan rays.

All in all, if you want relaxing then you've got it here.

We recently spent 4 nights in this hotel and we really enjoyed the experience. The hotel was cozy and our room was very clean! We got fresh sheets and towels everyday.

Since there was a small kitchen, we could cook and enjoy our breakfast on the balcony. They also serve a breakfast next to the pool, but I recommend you prepare your own with local fruits and vegetables.

There was also hot water at anytime (sounds normal, but we stayed in another place where water was sun-heated, so no hot shower possible in early morning...).

the hotel offers pick-up from the airport. But I definitely recommend you to rent a car if like us, you like to experience the island.

And last but not least, I've visited 30+ countries and definitely received the best hospitality in Crete island (included this hotel).

I definitely recommend this apart-hotel if you're looking for a nice and quite place to stay.

Nico & Tuba, from Dublin

Room Tip: ask for a balcony with sea view (no extra, better view, quieter)!

I have stayed at Folia Apartment three times. it is a great place to stay. It is walkwise from the beaches, markets, stores, restaurants, clubs, bars, etc. It is awesome because its close to everything but also in a very peaceful area. The rooms are very clean, the breakfast is great, and the staff is very kind and helpful. You wont be left dissapointed.

A great place to stay - clean apartment and friendly staff. Area was quiet but amazingly only a five minute walk from an amazing beach and lots of restaurants to choose from nearby. If you need supplies there are local supermarkets again five minutes away although they vary in price so check but you will quickly see where to shop. The area offers a great place to stay and only a short bus journey from chania - we wanted a relaxing break with a pool and a fab beach, cheeky cocktail and good food. Folia was a great place to stay for all this and at a great price - book you won't be disappointed

Had a week at the Folia apartments after reading all the good reviews, they were certainly true. We had booked a taxi transfer from the airport (35 euros each way) as our flight landed at midnight. When we arrived at the apartments we were meet by the brothers who were very welcoming & took us to our room. I had requested a quiet room with a sunny balcony & a lovely view, got exactly what we asked for, couldnt have been better (room 37). The first morning we had breakfast 8 euro each. Water could be purchased for 2 euros for 6 large bottles, good value & if you needed pool/beach towels you could hire for 2 euros also. Whenever we passed reception we were always warmly greeted by the family & if there was any questions we had they were always there to help and advise. Cant wait to go back!

Room Tip: If you like full sun all day ask for a mountain view as sea views face north. If you are less mobil...
