Most of the reviews are accurate. This is a high quality place to stay that I am not accustomed to be honest. The pool area was very relaxing and enjoyable for my wife and I.
It was great to walk in the courtyard each day and see 2ft. Long iguanas! Loved that aspect. There is other exotic wildlife on the property.
The downside to this resort is the fact that they will nickel and dime you to death. Do not stay here if you do not have your own transportation! Sure they only charge $4 p/p for the hourly shuttle but they make it sound like no other transportation will come out to the resort other than the ones they use. Their is a guy in the tours office who has a very condensing attitude towards the guests. When asking for them to call a red cab company to go into Jaco they make it difficult and pretty much refuse. It was so bad towards the end of our 4 day stay there that I needed my wife to go into the office for fear of me getting nasty with the bad attitude employee.
Another thing I didn't care regarding the staff was a local off site restaurant where the locals mingle. They flat out acted like no other establishments existed outside the gates of Los Suenos.
All of the other staff, mainly the front desk were very pleasant to deal with daily.
Maybe I was just out of my normal element with the whole trying to squeeze every penny out of each customer

My husband and I arrived in San Jose Nov. 23, 2012 late in the evening so decided to stay at the airport Courtyard with free shuttle. Leaving the airport is very confusing with everyone asking to help you find your way. Shuttle pickup area was not marked so we let someone lead us to the area and phone the hotel and we tipped him because this is what they're looking for. The courtyard was ok for the night.

The next morning we arranged ahead for Estalin from CostaRicaTourOffice.com to pick us up and drive Los Suenos. Estalin was prompt and we had a very nice conversation on the hour trip to the hotel. Estalin previously worked for Marriott Los Suenos so this is why we chose him plus the great reviews posted about him. We liked him so much that we asked hime to make arrangements for us to zipline, guide us thru Manuel Antonio Park, and arrange a fishing boat at a fraction!! of the cost for us to have the experience of catching the "big one".

Had a blast on the zipline and have Estalin arrange because it will cost less. Estalin also was our guide thru Manuel Antonio and had knowledge about all sorts of things in the park from vegetation to sloths. We did see 5 sloths, howler monkies, and whiteface monkies. Fishing was on the boat "Allin" and all though the weather wasn't the best the captain and mate showed us a great time. We even saw a whale shark. Caught 2 yellow tunas and 4 mahi mahi. We took a fillet to the chef and he prepaired an awesome dinner for us. The rest of the fish fillets were given to Henry (the captain) Carlos (first mate) and Estalin.

Marriott Los Suenos is a very nice property! My husband is a platinum member and we chose the all inclusive package which for us was nice. Franklin, the reservation manager helped us with some confusion about our package with a great smile and professional manner that we appreciated. Any problems, find Franklin. We found the food to be very good and the waiters to be extremely helpful and pleasant. Special thanks to Fabian and Marko. Loved the pool......the design is awsome because even if the property is crowded the pool could have a private feel. We were upgraded to a suite and this made our vacation soooooo comfortable! Thank you to the Marriott employees for their friendly service!

For our return we were picked up by Estalin. I wanted to take back coffee and t-shirts so Estalin stopped at a shop that had reasonable prices and choices of coffee that were not displayed at the resort. What a great one stop store. I highly reccomend CostaRicaTourOffice to help make your vacation experience memorable. I also loved the beauty of The Marriott Los Suenos.

Spent a week at this Marriott property and can't wait to come back again. I would encourage everyone to use the transportation service in the hotel Swiss Travel. When you arrive at the San Jose airport it is very confusing with alot of people and alot of yelling. Do pay the $3.00 or $4.00 extra to have the representative meet you inside!! From that point on others will leave you alone and you are guided directly for your driver. We had a comfortable drive in a mini van and he pointed out interests along the way! Nickolas at the front desk is wonderful making you feel very welcome and explaining the property. If possible get a room with a balcony (they all dont have) it is great for relaxing and watching the ocean and boats come in and out of the marina.

We played golf 4 of our 7 day visit, the course is fun and challenging not just a resort course. The staff there are so friendly and will assist you in any way. We saw monkeys, large raccoons, toucans and macaws. Bring a few extra balls. We rented clubs they aren't the latest but they will help you get what ever you need.

If you have stayed in any good American resort you will not be blown away with the food costs it is a resort after all. The food is Excellent!! We especially enjoyed the Latin restaurant on the lower level. We had breakfast room service each morning for half of the breakfast buffett cost and had more than enough! The resort is and rooms are spotless!

Do walk down to the Marina the food there is good and the small store Jimmy's is great for picking up odds and ends snacks. We took the van shuttle into Jaco one afternoon if you want to get a flavor for the area.

I can't say enough about the Costa Rican people they are so welcoming and friendly. We always felt safe but didn't leave the property after dark. Can't wait to plan another visit!

Had a wonderful stay. The hotel is right on the water and within walking distance of a Marina with other restaurants and amenities. Hotel was quite clean and everyone was very helpful. Food was a bit expensive. Expensive for Costa Rica, but not unexpected for a Marriott. Still, the food we had was good. Buffet breakfast, outdoors, by the pool, was a great start for the day.

At the end of the road (by route 34) is a nice shopping area. The market had wonderful items, so load up on sundries and bottled water there. Save your money for the nearby Zip lining and Canopy tours.

Closeby is Jaco - a 10 minute drive. Plenty of authentic shopping and eating there.
