When we travel we love to sample to traditional foods of the region, but sometimes we try other things. This Italian restaurant was recommended to us by some people we met at our hotel. It was good, but not great. It was a nice change from the rice and beans that we had most days.
Though we liked our meal, I was most annoyed that at a fancy restaurant they charged me $4 to split our food onto two different plates. I don't care about the $4, but it just seemed tacky. The bill arrived with no explanation. I had to track down the waiter to ask him to explain the extra charges. Nowhere on the menu did it state there was a splitting charge and the waiter didn't tell us when I ordered. It's just not courteous to add unexpected charges to someone's bill.
They didn't have a kids meal and I was not going to order two full entrees for my kids. Splitting a meal was the only option.
After a nice meal, I left with a bad taste in my mouth.
