I particularly like the short trip from Belgium because the ‘Côte d’Opale’ is more beautiful than the Belgian coast which is polluted by big buildings.
On the beach itself: pay attention for the rising water level in the afternoon! Once you walk on the sand in the direction of Cap Griz Nez, it’s better to return on the cliffs as the beach is just a narrow strip of stones due to the approaching sea.
The whole environment is well-maintained, with one mobile snack shop on the parking. Only the arriving and departing ferries, the remaining bunkers from WW II and the monument on top of the cliffs are witnessing the exceptional natural circumstances of the coastline.
Recommended: If you like camping, try camping Camping Blanc Nez at Escalles, a small village only 400 m from the coast! It has a café, small camping shop, hot showers and most important, a beautiful view on the Cap.
