Like many of the other reviewers, there are many positive things to say about the hotel, and few negatives. We were traveling as a family of four, and asked for one room. When we got there, the room was large enough for the four beds, and comfortably so. The ceilings were high, as well. Our room had a view of the mountains as well as the pool out back (which we used both nights).

The pool is adjacent to the breakfast room/bar, which had lots of room to relax in, and there were multiple tables outside as well as in. On the downside, we did not have lots of time to spend there after rather long days sightseeing or hiking in the mountains. The breakfast is ample, though not spectacular.

The persons at the desk when we were there did not appear to be quite so accomodating about arranging a great place to eat, but did provide recommendations in town which worked out well (our Spanish may have been a hinderance).

On the downside, I was hoping that the town would have more of a small town feel, but it is too close to Granada for that. Indeed, it is only a few minutes away, and there is a direct bus to what seemed like every attrction we saw in Granada.

If there were about 3-5 groups of people (families, couples, etc.) traveling together, this place would be perfect, or if there were a number of other groups/couples staying there and haging out downstairs. It is roomy, has places to get together, is near both Granada and restaurants in Cenes de la Vega (one of which was probably our favorite of our trip) and has a nice staff. Given all of the very positive reviews, I am not sure it exceeded our high expectations going in, but it did not disappoint.

Last Easter my partner and myself decided to visit Granada, in southern Spain. We booked our flights with Ryanair which conveniently flights directly into Granada from London Stanstead.
While searching for a hotel in the area, we wanted something small, cozy, romantic and with great views. We found it in Hotel Cerro del Sol. It is a lovely hotel 5 minutes away from downtown Granada but very well communicated. I think it only has 15 rooms, each of them with a different design. There is also a nice living area with chimney, an outside swimming pool a garden and one of the most beautiful views I have ever seen.
The staff were very friendly and did a fantastic job at keeping the hotel incredibly clean. They also advised us to visit Sierra Nevada, a ski resort just 20 minutes away from the hotel.
We spend a day there, and we had a lot of fun.
Finally, the room rates were incredibly cheap in our opinion.
We certainly recommend it.

We stayed at the Cerro del Sol between Xmas and New Year. Fantastic location with wonderful mountain views. Staff were amazing and really helpful and arranged for us to go to a lovely restaurant under the bullring in Granada! The location was just outside Granada centre but it was perfect for trips up to the Sierra Nevada mountains for skiing.
Room was spacious and clean and really quiet so perfect for our relaxing break.
We will definitely go back if we are ever in that part of the world again.

The staff are fantastic, the breakfast is wonerful and the location - well, as long as you have a car (not a must as there is a local bus) it's a great place to stay! It's well above the normal standard one could expect! The staff (especially the boss) couldn't do enough to help! I just want to return now!!
