If you dont do garlic, this isnt the place for you.
We went with friends recently and the service was excellent. Unfortunately, I cant say that I enjoyed the food. There are 4 courses, the first of which was the beans with poached egg. I asked if the meal was hot and the waitress confirmed it was. Well, the egg was and the beans were cold and as I dont like cold food, I left that half. There was a hint of garlic on the food but nothing compared to the mushroom, herb and garlic soup. As it was the second course, there wasnt a choice. The garlic totally overwhelmed any taste of mushroom and I didnt finish the course. I choose Lamb as my mains and the potato again was made with garlic - totally spoiling it and the lamb, though a bit fatty for me was nothing special.
The one shining point was the desert - try the syrup sponge , fantastic and I also tried the cheescake, also very good. Not the most enjoyable of meals and as we were only visiting the area, wont go back when we are there again.
I am sure a good quality pub meal would be better value and without garlic !
Also, with it being a small room, the sound of voices was bouncing off the walls, making it difficult to hold a proper conversation
