“Wow!!!!! We didn't want to leave.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2014

From the moment we arrived in Montville we were impressed. Everyone had a different relaxed pace. Dianne greeted us at reception and was so welcoming and helpful. The drive down to our cottage was a steep driveway but concrete and a tiny bit of gravel. It wasn't an issue and took us to the most beautiful, clean and picturesque cottage on the edge of the mountains. We were squealing with joy at our new home for a few days. We are supplied with an initial wonderful fruit platter and a more than abundant hamper each day. Everything you needed was supplied. Lovely soap products to go with the beautiful large spa bath that overlooks the mountains. We had a little possum visit us on the balcony one night for an offering of fruit. We tried not to spoil him but he did look very well fed and was very tame. I still would not suggest you touch them as they have sharp teeth and claws. This is one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed and we travel all over the world as my husband is an international pilot. I am going to book the cottage for my son and his partner in the near future so they can truly relax in style….We can't wait to go back…..

Room Tip: Oh I would hate to give away this secret but number 8 was fantastic. Its called the Studio…..

Amazing views friendly service clean definitely a go to place would go again in a heartbeat. Lovely inground spa that was magical upon sunset with a glass of wine in the arms of the 1 you love. really nice touch with the breakfast hamper which is inclusive of your overnight room rate... The fattest part about this place is having to leave

The staff were lovely, the picnic style breakfast was beautiful and delicious, the room was absolutely stunning! Te view was breathtaking, everything was perfect. Montville is beautiful too and everything is a short stroll away. Only complaint is that every restaurant/cafe is very overpriced but with the kitchen in the tree houses it's easy to bring your own food :) I and wait to go back, very reasonable price! It was a perfect romantic escape for my partner and I.

We stayed here for two nights and were pleasantly surprised by the layout of the cabin. From the outside it looks like a tin shack, but once inside you walk in to a lovely timber style open plan room. The views from here are absolutely amazing. I must confess the first time you use the shower it is a bit un-nerving as it looks out on to the forest below, but you do get used to it. The cabin was very clean and the area very peaceful. The breakfast hamper was alright, but could have done with more variety. All in all it was a nice stay.

The luxury treehouse No. 8 was awesome. It is extremely peaceful and beautiful from there. This particular cabin is secluded from the rest and thats what makes it special.

Breakfast hampers are not bad. It is slightly over priced for the service but the view and location make it worth. The restaurant Gypsy Table right outside this place is fantastic!

Room Tip: Ask for room No 8 or other room away from the rest.

I stayed in Cabin 7 with not too many expectations, which was probably a good thing. It's definitely not a luxury cottage, but nice enough with the daily breakfast hamper, spa bath and view which was overall fairly good. It is at the end of the main strip where all the shops and cafes are, so it is a walk-able distance to and from the cabin IF your cabin is at the top of the driveway, which mine was... I cannot say the same for the other cabins further down the steep driveway.
Also, because of Montville's mountainous topography, the cabins are on steel "stilts", which seemed like they were NOT braced sufficiently as the cabin was swaying fairly significantly from normal wind conditions. I believe the cabins are structurally sound but it was a little unnerving experiencing the swaying motion. As a structural engineer, it bothered me.
But overall, I enjoyed my stay, mainly because the Montville/Maleny area is gorgeous, the Maleny cheese factory is the bomb and the nearby walks are awesome.

The staff here are amazing and the customer service is phenomenal. The accommodation is also amazing. It is walking distance from everything in Montville but just on the outskirts so you feel very secluded. I will definitely stay here again
