absolutely lovely place with fantastic views, wonderful food and loads to do. we went horse riding and mountain biking - both of which were great fun and organised by Rob and Mary.
We had a very relaxing time and couldn't recommend it more! There's something for everyone - from the super fit to those who just want to chill out on the beautiful terrace. We combined a few nights here with a couple in Granada which was perfect.

We have just returned from an excellent week at Casa Escocia. It was great to stay in a typical Andalucian village, and well away from other tourists. The house is at the top of the village in a fantastic location with the most amazing views of the valley. An ideal way to spend a lazy couple of hours - sitting on the terrace admiring the view and having a glass of the local wine!

The walks and cycle tracks directly from the house were fantastic. It was great not to have to use the car every day.

Many thanks to Mary for her superb cooking. The meals we had were excellent, and it was great to spend a relaxed evening with Rob & Mary and the other guests. A fab place for us to celebrate a 40th birthday too!

Definately a place we will return to.

We have just returned from Casa Escocia after staying for a 7 night break. I dont normally write reviews but had to on this one as we both had such a wonderfull time. The welcome and hospitallity we got from the Gray family was exceptionall. They pointed us in the right direction in everything that we wanted to do and see and almost seem to work around our timetable in as far as meals were concerned. Ive never been to such a beautiful place that by travelling half an hour one way you could have snow boarding and skiing and by travelling an hour the other way you could have the sand of beaches of the coast!! It was almost like having two holidays rolled into one. The sky was the limit on this one, you could never be bored on any day of the year!! In the very few times that we weren't doing anything the roof terrace looking down into the valley below was just so relaxing....almost theraputic. We will be definitley going back again to fit in the adrenalin rushes and those relaxing moments. Excellent views, excellent times, excellent family, well done the Grays!!

I stayed at Casa Escocia for a 4 day break and i wasn't dissapointed. After a warm welcome by the Gray family i was shown round their lovely home Casa Escocia, and shown my room which was a lovely big and bright room with en suite and beautiful veiws of the Aipujarras mountains. After a good nights sleep i took a stroll into the village known as Nechite this is a lovely typical spanish mountain village where the locals are very freindly. That day Rob guided a trek into the mountains which was a great experience picking fruit and almonds and drinking fresh water along the way while taking in this breath taking scenery and Robs knowlege of the Alpujarras was second to none. That night the Grays all helped in the kitchen to produce a meal fit for a king and was i ready for it, it was a great family atmoshere, great food ,great wine and listening to Rob and Marys two daughters Nicole and lara singing and talking in spanish was fun, oh! and telling jokes .On the sunday freinds of the Gray family invited them round for sunday lunch myself included which was a nice gesture and what a lovely day sampling more good food and wine with great people.
On the monday it was deep into the mountains for serious mountain biking and wasn't dissapointed the wildlife, the tracks, the veiws and the weather made this a trip to remember.
The mountain bike treks can be taliored to suit everyone from novice to the very experienced which i thought was a good thing.
My stay at Casa Escocia was simply the best i will be back for more action as there is plenty to be had around this area, maybe i'll try my hand at mountain boarding or paragliding the next time.
