I stayed at Casa Escocia for a 4 day break and i wasn't dissapointed. After a warm welcome by the Gray family i was shown round their lovely home Casa Escocia, and shown my room which was a lovely big and bright room with en suite and beautiful veiws of the Aipujarras mountains. After a good nights sleep i took a stroll into the village known as Nechite this is a lovely typical spanish mountain village where the locals are very freindly. That day Rob guided a trek into the mountains which was a great experience picking fruit and almonds and drinking fresh water along the way while taking in this breath taking scenery and Robs knowlege of the Alpujarras was second to none. That night the Grays all helped in the kitchen to produce a meal fit for a king and was i ready for it, it was a great family atmoshere, great food ,great wine and listening to Rob and Marys two daughters Nicole and lara singing and talking in spanish was fun, oh! and telling jokes .On the sunday freinds of the Gray family invited them round for sunday lunch myself included which was a nice gesture and what a lovely day sampling more good food and wine with great people.
On the monday it was deep into the mountains for serious mountain biking and wasn't dissapointed the wildlife, the tracks, the veiws and the weather made this a trip to remember.
The mountain bike treks can be taliored to suit everyone from novice to the very experienced which i thought was a good thing.
My stay at Casa Escocia was simply the best i will be back for more action as there is plenty to be had around this area, maybe i'll try my hand at mountain boarding or paragliding the next time.
