A semi regular visit for us, till last time. Service was patchy, combine that and the ridiculously increased food prices made us get up and leave. When I say "patchy" I mean it was hard to find someone to assist, and one guy only stopped when it was obvious we'd spotted him and he couldn't escape without clearly being seen to ignore us. Not impressive. Another waiter was fine in his manner, but this wasn't enough to get us to remain.
Yet another example of a great place being taken over and its character changed hugely. Trying to go upmarket, chiefly by shifting prices so high they are just stupid.
And a formerly excellent light lunch menu now a thing of the past.
One member of staff was apologetic, which wasn't enough to change our huge disappointment. Previously the standard of food presented was high, the prices maybe a little high - but now it's swung to levels likely to kill off its previous popularity.
Could be they're aiming for a different demographic, what with a very expensive timeshare across the bridge, but it won't include us from now on. We don't mind paying a decent price for a decent meal, but this has gone too far for us. We're two sixty-ish adults, with little time for overpricing policies in places that seek to shed a previous clientele - and that's exactly what this looks like to us.
