We stayed here overnight after driving from Heathrow. The right length of drive, even though it was rainy. We came up the back way instead of the main roads and found the Old Mill with little difficulty. The setting is lovely and the number of cars indicated it was a popular place. we were greeted by a very pleasant woman who checked us in. Our room had large windows overlooking the river, which my husband pointed out had a lot of junk in it, but there was greenery and flowers and I though it was pretty. The room was large with two full beds and a easy chair. There was room for our two large suitcases. It was too rainy to sit outside in the numerous places or to walk along the river, so we had lunch/dinner in the bar. As others have noted, the food is good and the atmosphere is pleasant. We were very pleased with our first night in England.

Room Tip: Our room was upstairs which meant carrying heavy suitcases up, but I don't know if they have roo...

since moving to coventry, this is our most local pub that allows dogs. the food is cheap and cheerful but it is a chef and brewer so dont go expecting award winning food but for a decent fish and chips at a reasonable rate, its not bad at all! beautiful surroundings with a lovely river right by which you can see if you sit outside. very nicely decorated inside too.

we visit 'the old mill' regularly for lunch - usually on a saturday. we think the value of the 'daytime deal' menu is great as most places don't generally offer such deals on a saturday! we've never had a bad experience here! the staff are helpful, the portion sizes are great and the food itself is always delicious! we've been sitting in the beer garden lately as the weather has been good and think this is one of the best beer gardens around without a doubt! we'll be back :)

Second time of coming here. Fab little place. Excellent service from all staff. Great location. Recommend the executive rooms and the midday checkout is fantastic. Nice choice at breakfast from continental to full English.

Popped in for a late luncheon bite to eat circa 13.45! Barmaid very helpful & pleasant but not to be able to provide a straw & stirrer for our respective G&T's because "the delivery wasn't use 'till the next day," was wholly unacceptable & entirely inadequate; forward planning??? Stock-room basics?? Come on!!! Anyway, we selected a fish Niger sandwich & rump steak & red chutney sandwich each served with chips! The doorstep white bloomer was beyond stale, the steak was like leather & the fish fingers thoroughly overlooked! Furthermore, the side salad was limp & withered having brown edges upon the lettuce! The only edible item were the chips which were clearly frozen & not homemade, so all in all our dining experience was not good on any level! In addition, the tables. We're grubby, uncleared & basically needed an urgent clean! Unfortunately, we were consumed by business & short of time, consequently not having the time or the inclination to complain. Needless to say we will not be returning or recommending!

The welcome is warm, the rooms are comfortable, the location is idyllic (on the River Sowe).
The food is good with a balanced selection of dishes at reasonable prices. The team however is outstanding; vibrant and dynamic with a genuine customer focus. I highly recommend the Old Mill for business or leisure stays. For a bonus I even saw a Kingfisher swoop low over the river first thing in the morning; what a way to start the day!

Room Tip: The river view rooms afford fantastic views
