In fact it was a movie featuring Stefan and some other divers diving a giant rock in Dahab that made me want to learn freediving in the first place (watch the movie here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nojwX5ZL0qE ).
When i heard that Stefan Randig opened a freediving school in Alona Beach i was very exited to test it out and finally meet him in person. After beeing interested in Freediving already for a while, i headed with my Freediving partner and tour guide Gadie Barro to see Stefan and Dee Kay's new school in Alona Beach, Bohol. I am proud to be their first student in the new setup.

We went for one day fundiving at Balicasac Island and one day deep-diving with rope on the Alona Beach House Reef. Both were awesome.
Balicasac Island offers awesome and rich underwater world with lots and lots of turtles to see. We fun-free-dived along the reef and were even able to get great video footage of turtles and other sea-creatures around.
The deep-dive training with Stefan on the second day was one of the best training sessions i ever had. Stefan was giving very useful and target orientated advises after each dive. What i liked a lot is that he teaches in a very very calm and relaxed way. This made me feel very comfortable and save. So, that i actually broke my record, haha...

Overall, we had some wonderful days at Panglao. After diving we went for diner together, discussing over the days dives, the surrounding resorts are plenty and a large variety of pricing. Sunsets are awesome on the beach and the seafood unbeatable. For freedivers who travel with scuba-friends this is an ideal place to go, since this one of the few places in the Philippines where both is available.
