We recently stayed at Amorita and originally planned to eat at other notable restaurants in Panglao for lunch and dinner, but ended up dining at Saffron for all but 2 meals of our 3-night stay. The food was that good!
The breakfast spread wasn't overwhelming but was more than adequate and definitely tasty. It had a good mix of continental and Asian fare. The bacon's to die for! So is the hot choco! Everything was freshly prepared and presented so beautifully. Our favorites were the white marlin which melted in our mouths, the chicken halang-halang which had the right amount of spiciness, the binakol which was made surprising with chicken and coconut strips and their unique and super delicious take on the adobo. We especially loved how they "reinvented" well-loved Filipino dishes without losing their essence. We missed the Saturday Grill because there was a wedding on the grounds, but the restaurant had prepared a grill set, which was yummy too.
Of course, the view made the whole dining experience all the more exquisite. One night, we had al fresco dinner right beside the cliff, and it was pure magic. Great company + great setting + great food? Life couldn't get any better! The drinks were also well concocted by the awesome bartender. Loved the iced tea, margarita and mojito. And thanks to happy hour, watching the sunset was perfect with a bottle of beer in tow.
Ultimately, what made dining at Saffron truly delightful was the warm and friendly service of the restaurant staff. Everyone was gracious, and made us feel so at home and special. We really felt their genuine desire to give us the best dining experience. They made it hard for us to leave the resort. All in all, I highly recommend Saffron even if you're not staying at Amorita.
