Description: The critically acclaimed Saffron Restaurant at Amorita Resort is inspired by the seasons and specialties in Bohol. The all-day menu, developed by Chef Raphael Ongchiong, emphasizes freshness, clarity of ingredients, and local availability. Saffron offers a thoughtful reinterpretation of Boholano heritage cuisine, alongside a wide range of Continental and Asian food favorites. The Chef's culinary artistry is met with an excellent selection of wines, signature cocktails, and gourmet beverages. A 162-seat dining venue, Saffron is casual and welcoming, with a decor to match. Sea-inspired accent lighting, all-weather woven furniture, and hand-carved driftwood create a dramatic poolside ambiance that serves to elevate guests' dining experience.

“Amazing Food and Service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2013

We recently stayed at Amorita and originally planned to eat at other notable restaurants in Panglao for lunch and dinner, but ended up dining at Saffron for all but 2 meals of our 3-night stay. The food was that good!

The breakfast spread wasn't overwhelming but was more than adequate and definitely tasty. It had a good mix of continental and Asian fare. The bacon's to die for! So is the hot choco! Everything was freshly prepared and presented so beautifully. Our favorites were the white marlin which melted in our mouths, the chicken halang-halang which had the right amount of spiciness, the binakol which was made surprising with chicken and coconut strips and their unique and super delicious take on the adobo. We especially loved how they "reinvented" well-loved Filipino dishes without losing their essence. We missed the Saturday Grill because there was a wedding on the grounds, but the restaurant had prepared a grill set, which was yummy too.

Of course, the view made the whole dining experience all the more exquisite. One night, we had al fresco dinner right beside the cliff, and it was pure magic. Great company + great setting + great food? Life couldn't get any better! The drinks were also well concocted by the awesome bartender. Loved the iced tea, margarita and mojito. And thanks to happy hour, watching the sunset was perfect with a bottle of beer in tow.

Ultimately, what made dining at Saffron truly delightful was the warm and friendly service of the restaurant staff. Everyone was gracious, and made us feel so at home and special. We really felt their genuine desire to give us the best dining experience. They made it hard for us to leave the resort. All in all, I highly recommend Saffron even if you're not staying at Amorita.

“Fantastic View”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2013

Visit this restaurant during the day to get a great view over the trees to the azure sea below. The food was very well presented and cooked perfectly and the service was faultless.
The staff were very friendly and I found the resort had an art gallery with some interesting pieces - apparently from local artists. The gardens are beautifully kept as they sweep downhill to the white beach. The water was quite shallow and seemed to be a good place for young children to play.

Dear Raj F,
We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your dining experience at Saffron Restaurant. The view of Bohol Sea is definitely a wonderful sight to behold. Many of our guests have their photos taken by the cliff deck - where all can see Bohol Sea meeting with the sandy shores of Alona Beach. On your next visit, we hope you and your companions will get a chance to try the Saturday Grill Buffet. Thank you!

Sincerely, Carissa

“Nothing fab.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

nothing fab about the food. The pork sinigang is quite new though, as the pork used was a crispy liempo cut. Prices are also considerable, but you could also feel the “dampa” style dining in those restaurants near the shoreline. Go for a dessert while swimming in the pool though. Beat the heat.

Dear Bernadette_Ruiz,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts about Saffron Restaurant. Cooling off by the pool is a great idea! We hope you were able to try one of our fruit shakes or fresh coconut juice from the bar. On a hot day, some of our guests order Turon de Bohol with ice cream to cool off. Sincerely, Carissa
