“Romantic retreat..”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012 via mobile

Myself and hubby stated here for our wedding anniversary, we were in the Jacobite suite and it was gorgeous! The room is full of character, large four poster bed draped with gold swags, a huge bathroom with a jacuzzi bath and a great power shower! It was very clean. The view from our room was fantastic! I woke up with the sound of a stag at the bottom of the hotel garden! The food was outstanding! The scallops and prawns in tempura batter are a must! The staff are all vert friendly, Fiona the manger is very helpful on information on what times of the steam trains and cruises, it's hotels like this that make me sooo proud to be Scottish, than you for a wonderful visit, we will defo be back! :)

Taken on a 2 day visit by a friend who had been visiting the hotel over many years. It came up to and more his exhortations. One is welcomed by the friendly and enthusiatic staff and by a large open fire blazing with pine scented logs. The bed was very comfortable and warm. The food was excellent, the best steak I've eaten in 10 years, succulent, beautifully cooked, rich in taste and compared to many of the Michelin restaurants I've dined in throughout the UK and Europe inexpensive. The lack of TV and all that was a decided bonus. Definately be back, this time with more friends.

Room Tip: Stayed in top room, big of a climb for older persons but spacious, warm and very comfortable

Stayed here for three nights, and it was just amazing! As soon as we arrived we were made to feel very welcome.
The food was to die for and the prices were more than ample..
Will definitely be visiting again next year.

Just spent 3 nights at the Glenfinnan House Hotel in room no. 4 which has a wonderful view of the loch and monument from its window. If you're looking for super modern then this is not the place for you. No TV!! Our room was very comfortable and well presented with traditional furnishings. The food is fabulous. Didn't matter whether it was a bowl of soup or a full main course, fab, fab, fab!! Unfortunately there isn't much atmosphere in the restaurant but all the same food is available in the very cosy bar, so after the first night we ate there instead and watched two stags grazing on the lawn in front of the house with the loch behind them. Try working your way along the malt whisky shelf - it's quite long so pace yourself.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the loch

A lovely truely scottish country hotel. Situated with a great view over the loch and a warm real log fire to welcome you in. The staff were very friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. The room was large and comfortable with a modern bathroom. There was no TV which was actually quite nice as it forced you to unwind. The food was fanastic - so good we had breakfast, lunch and dinner there one day!

Great place to stay. The room was fantastic (missed a TV during OS2012 a little) and very good restaurant.
The staff was very kind and extremely helpful when I had a problem with my car.
Absolute recommendable !!!!

The Glenfinnan house hotel and it's stunning location proved the ideal choice for a three night break in the highlands last week. Great food, cheerful service and a warm welcome awaits you and the tranquil setting by the shores of Loch Shiel means that it is the perfect place to unwind.....No 24 hour news cycle here, in fact, I dont think there is a tv in the place....so peaceful. We can certainly recommend the cruise on loch Shiel as a great way to reconnect with the natural world (thanks Jim) The traditional ceilidh in the bar on thursday night with Dougie and Colm and the Glenfinnan ceilidh band crowned a memorable stay . Our thanks to Duncan,Manja and the team and we very much look forward to making it back again soon.
