Owner description: Yarak Birds of Prey is the most unique centre in the South West. Yarak is a stand alone specialist Bird of Prey Centre and is not attached to an attraction as a sideshow. Yarak is a Bird of Prey visitor centre with birds flying throughout the day. We are also a hands on experience centre. The centre is run by experienced professional falconers that really care about their birds and customers. All the birds here are classed as "family" and are treated with a huge amount of respect and want for nothing. Here at Yarak we cater for visitors to come and see our birds and watch them fly on display. Yarak also caters for hands on experiences, handling and flying our birds. There is a cafe on site for hot/cold food and refreshments. The staff at Yarak are extremely friendly and look after our customers needs and offer endless information regarding the birds.

“Memorable day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2013

I had a full day experience, with a friend - and went today (29-6-13). Michelle and Charlotte were great and clearly are knowledgeable and love the bird dearly. It was a brilliant experience which my friend Alan and I won't forget. I'd highly recommend the full day experience.

Also, we were impressed with the overall facilities and the cooked lunch (superb all day breakfast) was a bonus. Would return with my wife and children. Travelled by Yarak by train to Tiverton Parkway then a taxi (circa 20 pounds).

“Enraptured by Raptors”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013 via mobile

What a privilege to spend a day learning about these awe-inspiring birds. We were so impressed with the way they are housed, and the respect with which they are handled, many of these birds are 'rescues', and feel they are fortunate to have found their way to Yarak. Michelle imparted a huge amount of information during the course of the day, and it was wonderful to be able to be so close to so many different types of birds of prey. Being a 'human bird table' while the Kestrel, enchanting Scops Owl and finally majestic Eagle Owl flew from one to another of us was an amazing experience.
The tuna baps we had for lunch were extremely good too!

Was bought a half day experience for my birthday at Yarak Birds of Prey. The staff were welcoming and friendly and are obviously very passionate about what they do. Being able to get so close to these wonderful creatures was one of the best days ive had in a long time and i would highly recommend this to anyone.

“Best day out for years!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

This was my 60th birthday present from my family.
Michelle gave us the most informative and entertaining day handling various birds of prey, after seeing garden centre displays, we all learned that those are set up for profit alone. Yarak is all about true falconry, and it was sad to see the casualties of misinformed and ill trained owners that are now with them.
We intend to go back again, just to see more of the birds and their displays, not an expensive day out for the experience and very reasonable if just visiting the centre.
Getting close up to the birds is just incredible, cannot describe it, you need to go there.
We chose all day breakfast for lunch, locally sourced and amazing.
We're thinking of buying the season ticket as we live quite close and it was so good.
Thank you John, Michelle and not forgetting Di.

“Fantastic day spent with beautiful birds of prey”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013 via mobile

Bought this as a Mother's Day present and Birthday present for my auntie so we could all spend the day together doing something none of us has been lucky enough to experience before .Arrived and was greeted by john in the coffee shop where we were invited to order our lunch ready for later in the day which was really useful as was ready for us as soon as we came in for lunch.Michelle came to greet us also very enthusiastic about our plans for the day as was john.we were taken outside to meet all the birds and in turn held them and learned all about them in turn ,then inside we meet the beautiful owls and following that we're taken over to a barn where were all given food to treats to feed the birds as they flew from one end of the barn to the other which was fantastic to watch.Although it was a bit chilly and windy day we still spent all day with the birds in the barn or outside with the birds on there stands .was fabulous took lots of photos and was such a memorable day my mother and auntie couldn't stop talking about it and I would recommend this to anyone. The birds are cared for treated wonderfully and there interest is always a top priority .Would like to thank John and Michelle for a fabulous experience that made my mum a very happy lady :)
