“Hotel not ready”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013

Have just returned from the Club del sol yesterday after spending a week there. We booked a select room as we thought it would be better as we were taking our 21/2 yr old grandson with us. The room was damp and cold the garden area was unusable as it was boggy and had open access to the quite swimming pool, a river which runs at the back of a grassed area, and a main rd to the side of this. We spent one night in this room we were cold and when we woke the clothes we had hung up were damp. The dressing gowns we were provided with were also damp on arrival and the belt loops were broken. The next morning the garden was soaking and so were the sunbeds we found out whilst sitting on the patio area why this was as the sprinklers that are in all the gardens went off and my husband was soaked by them. We were moved to the main complex that day. ( As the select rooms are all in block 6 which is opposite the main complex). The hotel was not ready for guest there were workmen cementing around the pool area's, planting flowers. All the walkways were either being cleaned with power washers or polish was being applied to them. The food was not good for the first few days and the choice for children was not good. ( Not all children live on chicken nuggets and chips.) The restaurant doesn't open till 7pm. and is not open for lunch this is serviced by the pool snack bar. there was no real entertainment until our last evening. The children's reps Melissa and Cara and the entertainments rep Rachel were Fantastic with our grandson and he loved them all. As were the bar staff. This hotel should not take guest until it is ready it was not ready when we stayed there.

Me and my hubby came here last year with our then 18 month old, my mum, brother, SIL and niece. We all had an absolutely fantastic time and could not pick fault at all. Location was perfect, 25 mins walk in to pollensa and a 10 min bus ride from alcudia which has the most amazing beach. The hotel was brilliant, rooms were nice, food was lovely and the reps were fantastic and always on the go. Literally couldn't wait to come back again, so glad my hubby decided to treat me. 5 weeks and counting!!!

My husband suggested that we go on holiday to celebrate my 30th birthday, looking on the internet we found majorca and then club del sol aparthotels. From the moment we arrived at the reception, staff were friendly and welcoming, the whole place is so clean. The apartments themselves had all the facilities you could want, very good standard of furniture and fittings, with a full kitchen and microwave - but we went all inclusive so this was not required. We had a top floor room which had a lovely view over the adult pool and beyond. Food was plentiful with fully cooked breakfasts, snacks available at the pool bar and then lovely evening meals as well. overall a lovely experience and a place we will definatley visit again. Only negative is that the electricity is controlled by the front door key, so you needed to enter the apartment then put key in the wall socket, this meant we had to use mobile phone to see what we were doing, and as we were on top floor and had rain two nights, this came slightly under the door so the floor was also wet when it was dark. maybe they could give you 2 keys.

alcudia - take a day trip on the bus only 10 mins away on market day, beautiful walled old town with stunning church and architecture abound.

porto pollensa - 5 mins walk to the left and you reach the quaint town. The pine avenue is lovely to stroll down and the beach is great too.

Pirates - if you do nothing else whilst in Majorca see this show, we paid a small premium for better seats and ended up right next to the stage, awesome acrobatics ensured this was a night we will not forget, we had food included in the package which was a good standard.

marineland - amazing dolphin show, disapointed to not be told by rep that you could have a dolphin experience at the zoo (additional pay) so we didnt take as much money to join in. Did enjoy a kiss from a sealion plus photo for 12 euros.

Wild west water park - really good water park with variety of rides, easy rivers and fountains. Make sure you take some change for lockers.

We stayed here for 1-week mid-end June as a family of 6-adults and 2-children. The hotel was very well kept inside and out, our rooms were standard but spacious, clean and cool!! The hotel staff were all friendly and the entertainment reps were fantastic. Lots of activities were on offer for the children throughout the day and into the evening and the choice of pools meant they were never short of anything to do. We stayed all inclusive and there was always a good variety of dishes on offer in the restaurant and the food appeared to be fresh. The snacks and drinks on offer throughout the day were great too. Location wise not alot in the immediate area but buses stop outside the complex and go pretty much anywhere you want!! We visited Puerto Pollensa, Puerto Pollensa Old Town and Alcudia. My brother and his wife even managed a day trip to Palma! All in all a fantastic hotel and one that i would definitely return to.

Room Tip: We stayed in the block of apartments nearest to the children's splash pool and the view across t...

I have now been to Club Del Sol thee times and I hoping I'm coming back for a fourth! The hotel is very well kept and the people who work there are a credit to the whole establishment. The views out in the middle of the bay are stunning from the hotel, and in a short 10 minute walk you see the real beauty of the sandy beaches and blue waters. We've been fortunate enough to have a ground floor room every time we've stayed, and the practicality of the room to the pool, to the bar is great. Their all inclusive offer is definitely worth the money and its great for the glorious sunny days, when all you want is a refreshing drink. The pools are pristine and around the pool area is well kept. Equally the rooms are a fantastic size, and are always nice and cool, for those breaks from the sun.
This hotel is great, a fantastic holiday is always expected and I would not only recommend but am very keen to visit again!!

Have booked our return visit for July 2013. My 12 yrs old son loved it last year, and therefore so did I and my husband, once the children are happy, then you are happy. facilities were brilliant, staff were brilliant, especially Jean, Johnny and Cecilia. met the most amazing people who we will meet again this year. my son has recently been diagnosed with diabetes type 1, and I am so comfortable to know that there will be a variety of food that will suit his diet, and I am also sure that he will be accommodated by just asking, because the staff are very approachable and will do their best to help in any way that they can.

Room Tip: get your essentials like tea and coffee in the town

We stayed for 2 weeks here with our 3 year old son first 2 weeks of october. For the time of year we had fabulous weather. First impressions were that the hotel is extremely clean and well maintained. The receptionist greeted us with a friendly smile and check in was swift. On arrival at our room we had a spacious studio with a large bathroom and balcony with a nice view of the surrounding farm land to the right of the hotel and the sea in the distance (we were in the block in front of the splash pool). The rooms are not luxurious by any standard and i would say scrape a 4 star rating and to be honest the bathrooms although large are looking very tired with cracked tiles and some mold starting to a appear. The facilities for kids are great our son enjoyed the kids club and splash pool and the main pool gets gradually deeper so he could use that too. The complex feels spacious and has well maintained outside areas. The space in doors i.e. seating areas felt quite small to me and in the evenings it would get very busy in the bar and we were there in low season. I think if you had bad weather or the hotel was full i think this could be a real problem. However the indoor areas are 'nice' and relatively comfortable. Food was good not outstanding but always seemed fresh and there was alot of freshly cooked meat and fish. Puddings okay but i did find these were very repetitive. They always had something for kids too but it was the variety that i felt was lacking slightly compared to other all inclusive s- but you definitely wont starve and we only ate out once in 2 weeks! Crisps and ice cream at the bar were brilliant- our 3 year old loved it. First choice entertainment reps johnny rocks and boycee were outstanding however sad to hear they will not be at the complex next season as to be honest they made our holiday! All in all a 'nice' hotel just worthy of its 4 star rating but no were near a premier hotel (we have stayed in these before) unless they have done alot of re vamping.
