“Great stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013

We have just come back from a 5 day stay at the Hotel Uyal. We had lovely weather, the hotel was great, the staff were very friendly, the food was very good and plenty of it. It was lovely and clean and the facilities were very good. The room was very comfortable and modern with a sea view. The resort is very nice as well. We all had a great time and would go back there again.

Room Tip: sea views are better

Situated just across the main road to the sandy beach, the Uyal is a 15 minutes stroll to the centre of Puerto Pollensa. This means its in a relatively quiet spot, and other than outside musical entertainment 3 times a week, it is very peaceful, and really aimed at older adults - nothing is provided for children apart from a small paddling pool.
It has obviously been recently refurbished - we stayed in the main part of the hotel and the rooms were modern and well appointed (minibar fridge, hairdryer, iron and board) and had large bathrooms with walk in showers. The rooms, like the rest of the hotel were kept immaculately clean.
We stayed on a half board basis, and I was rather sceptical as to what the food would be like, but was very pleasantly surprised. A great choice of hot and cold buffet at breakfast and dinner, well presented with some local mallorcan options too. My only minor criticism would be the occasional use of tinned vegetables or fruit, but most were fresh and varied.
What makes a stay in the Hoposa Uyal special though is its staff. I have never stayed somewhere where the all the members of staff - receptionists, housekeeping and waiters - are so friendly, knowledgable and helpful.
The hotel seemed full whilst we were there (first week in September after school term started) and quite a few guests seemed to be on repeat visits - therefore booking (and requests for sea view rooms) advised.

Well done Hoposa Uyal and thank you for a great stay. We'll be back!

Room Tip: Book early and request a sea view room. Take a book or two!

We booked this hotel through Booking.com, as it was a short break that was booked only a few months before and we were not able to book a sea view. Unfortunely our view was of the mountains, but also the over head cables and the dustbins. Sleeping was a problem due to the early deliveries, dustman, noisy aircon and the noise of the lift as guest went to and from breakfast in the morning. im sure other rooms in the hotel would be better. The room itself was very spacious, light and airy.

Food at the hotel was good, and value for money, we would however prefer not to have sittings for the evening meal. The sitting were to early and you felt rushed, especially on the first sitting.

The hotel location could not have been better, just across the road from the sea and a short walk to the town. If feeling really energetic you can walk to Alcudia, which we did. A warning though, it is a good 2 hours walk. We got the bus back which took 8 minutes!!

I would like to go back to this hotel but only if I could have a sea view room with balcony, and am more than happy to pay form this, however,, apparently this cannot be guaranteed even if booked in advance. ,!!

Room Tip: We have room 168, try to avoid his room if you can.

My wife and I stayed for five days early September, the junior suite was OK, large balcony overlooking sea front. No light on the balcony thus dark evening drinks!, but morning sunrise fantastic. The suite itself is, ermm, minimalist and very Ikea like.. Light oak veneer furnishings and a pretend wooden floor. But comfortable, clean and fantastic views. We were in room 156 but 157 is the way to go..... Wraparound balcony that gets sun and shade. As opposed to shade from noon onwards.
Breakfasts were good, location absolutely ideal. A short walk to the town, but just long enough to make you feel OK for having that pudding you know you shouldn't have ordered. Oh just remembered ... The aircon is v noisy, but we slept through it. Will we return? Probably... Location location location.

Room Tip: 157 has the corner balcony. With sea view and pool view.

We have just returned from our visit from this very clean and smart hotel
The food was good, although all buffet style for the evenings, but generally good, we did not venture to any of the restaurants for any meals
The staff were all helpful, but with an exception to us asking for a few lumps of ice as we all gathered each evening in 1 room for a pre dinner drink, I guess the barmen were against this
We had mixed feelings about the 'sittings' recently introduced for evening meals, it meant we went to dinner at 8,15, and we had only 1hr to eat, it was rushed, as there were 6 of us, and we felt we had to leave the dining area so staff were able to set up breakfast tables, this didn't go down very well with us as we felt in the way.
Our room had mosquito's so we managed to catch the very helpful cleaning lady who sorted out our problem
On our arrival, very late at night due to airport delays, staff had plated us up a meal, very welcome, and considerate
We ere surprised though to find that 2 of us were in an 'annexe' to the hotel and separated from our friends, but in fact we probably had the best room, best view, and soon settled into it
I would recommend this hotel to anyone I know and I would love to return with my partner at some stage, the beach is 5 seconds away from the hotel
To sum up, clean, comfy, smart and good food
We had room 207

Room Tip: Be sure, to find out if you are in the 'Annexe' or not..!!

I want to take the time to tell everyone what an amazing holiday we had! The rooms were spotless and fresh. The staff were amazing. The food was delicious and the cocktails served were to die for! The fact that it was right on the beach front was incredible and there was only a short walk into town, perfect. Defiantly booking to go next year for two weeks this time! No where else compares to this hotel. Love it!!

My sister ,niece & myself spent avery enjoyable relaxing week at this very comfortable hotel ,we shared a room which was spacious ,modern and well appointed ,fluffy bathrobes ,iron & board ,fridge ,hair dryer all important when on a girlie break ,we found the food to be most adequate for our needs ,all the staff were friendly ,helpful & charming . Sadly the pool was too cold for us to swim in but as we love the beach which is a few steps across the road we hired loungers & a shade everyday ,this added to the cost of the holiday but we enjoy swimming in the sea & made use of the hotel pool shower . We particularly liked the location ,away from the town hustle & bustle but within easy strolling distance . Our only criticism would be that we found a lack of drawer space & shelf space for toiletries in the bathroom ,probably due to our excess of clothes & toiletries ! We would definitely return
