I did not stay at this hotel. However, I did get the full tour. Let me explain. We went to the baths/pool at Monsummano nearby. We saw this sign for the Collna Toscana agriturismo as we left Terme Monsummano. Having just had a disastrous one night at a so called agriturismo the previous nite south of here, we were curious... how would this nearby place fare in comparison?
Collina Toscana is somewhat up in the hills around Terme Monsummano and nearby Montecatini ... you have to take some interesting turns not marked by signs, and you eventually get there.
Well we got there, and not a soul was around. However their little store was wide open. I could have swiped gallons of the gosh darned greenest and thickest olive oil you've ever seen. And some of the best Chianti ever ever. However, as we walked around, a couple of the caretakers ran into us (nobody had been expecting a random visit). We got the full tour. The rooms were spacious, all unique, very clean and decently air conditioned (yes do not take AC for granted in Italy... you've been warned). Bathrooms were clean and spacious. Beds seemed comfy.
Pool seemed clean and very inviting on this hot day we visited. They make breakfast and dinner there on location, I believe.
The farmer who makes the wine and olive oil was not around, but when he works, you are welcome to check it out I would suppose. The Chianti was so light and pleasant and their olive oil so good you just drink it by itself.
Anyway, if ever I was to return to Tuscany, I would spend a day or two here, in the hills above Monsummano, go the baths during the AM, visit Lucca or other local cities in the PM, or swim/suntan at the pool in the PM and stay at this fine little agriturismo.
