We were staying in the area for a week at an agriturismo and discovered this restaurant returning from a day trip. We ended up going back, and back! The food is truly excellent - there's something for everyone on the menu, most of it produced in the region. The three men in our group managed to finish off their amazing Florentine steak. While of gargantuan proportions, it was meltingly tender and flavourful. We are from New Zealand and know our steak - and these were pronounced the best -ever! After three visits, we had tried most dishes on the menu and all were perfection. But it was the service and personalities of the owners that really made the difference. Right from the minute we stepped in, we were made to feel genuinely welcome. Lots of conversation (not the usual "restaurant patter") which was witty and humorous, always professional. At the end of our first meal there, we were offered a complimentary glass of Mondragone Fraternum elixir. Locally produced and made with herbs from an ancient recipe. It was like nothing any of us had tasted before and I have since discovered we can't get it anywhere else. On the evenings we were there, the other diners were locals most of whom were greeted by name. The casual but classy surrounds are more suited to adults. As is the cuisine. This restaurant and its professional, personable owners will often be recalled and our dining experience recounted. Le Tre Case is a little out of the way in the middle of pretty countryside. It is well worth the trip. If you are staying in the area for a few days, undoubtedly, you will return.
