“Unforgetable primo experience”

We thoroughly enjoyed our time spent in our Catignano apartments and their surroundings. Meals in our kitchen, on our balcony patio or on our friends' patio were delightful & relaxing by the pool chatting with Franco & Patricia were priceless. The history of this village along with the abandoned church and picture perfect gravel road is amazing in itself. Our hosts are simply delightful as well as helpful guiding us to great local restaurants, stores for supplies & must see sights. Some of us brought our bikes & found the cycling routes challenging but well worth the ride because of the Tuscan scenery. The comfortable & spacious apartments are beautifully decorated & very comfortable. Favourite sites: San Giminiano, Firenze, Cecina, Lucca, Montaione

The beautiful house lies in a small quiet town, Catignano, with a swimmingpool and wifi! It's in a Tuscan style decorated, very tastful. The owners are very helpful, friendly and open-minded. There is a lot of history to be told about the Borgo and the surroundings. The owner has a vinyard and a wine cellar. Florence and Sienna are good to be visited by train. Put your car in Certaldo and take the train there. Other nice villages are San Gimignano, Volterra and Montaione in the neighbourhood.

The reviews on Tripadvisor helped me in choosing this property for my family (6 adults, a toddler and a baby). I am so glad I did! The hosts were beautiful and very accommodating of our needs. Their daughter Nicoletta was an absolute joy to deal with, making the booking easy and effortless. The property oozes charm, warmth and character, the curtains in our apartment were hand made by Nicoletta"s great grandmother! Relaxation greeted us as soon as we stepped over the threshold, to the point that it was hard to tear ourselves away for the easy day trips to Vinci, Florence, Volterra, San Gimignano etc. Laying on lounges under the Tuscan sun, breathing in the intoxicating perfume of the Jasmine vines whilst sipping a glass of wine from the neighbouring vineyard seemed like a temptation almost impossible to resist. This whole experience was one of the highlights of our trip... purely delightful!

The Loggia is the dream accommodation. Total comfort and absolute charm. We arrived from Rome and were so exceedingly delighted with our choice of location and accommodation. Franco greeted us and he is the most fantastic, genuine host. The Loggia is Old World charm with all the modern conveniences. We enjoyed day trips to many scenic towns and then relaxed in the apartment in the evenings. The pool in the backyard was perfect for our last hot day of just relaxing before flying home. Franco even provided a ramp for the small step between the dining and living areas because I was in a wheelchair. We just wished we had learned Italian so we could have talked to Franco and Patrizia more. Such wonderful people. Hope to return someday and would definitely recommend it to everyone looking for a quiet yet conveniently central location in Tuscany.

We love coming here! We have stayed here twice now and will definitely come back again. The hosts are wonderful and kind people! The apartment is beautifully decorated and well maintained. It's in a good location for exploring surrounding towns. We wish we could come here every year! We highly recommend you to stay here.

After a traumatic experiance in Florence all we wanted was a place of peace quiet and beauty .On our arrival in this scenic part of the world we were greeted so warmly by our lovely hosts that almost immediatly we relaxed . While Franco and Patrizia don't speak a lot of English and we speak no Italian they are the sort of people who have the remarkable talent of being able to communicate and overcome the language barrier..We were shown to our beautiful, well equipped, comfortable and spotless apartment complete with magnificent views. We could see the towers if San Giminano on the horizon. We even had our own terrace overlooking the pool with the rolling hills of Tuscany beyond where each evening we enjoyed a glass of Italian wine. This was our last stop after a three month European holiday and in our opinion quite the best, most relaxing and welcoming accommodation in which we had stayed. We just dream of returning to the place and people we will never forget.

Borgo dei Cadolingi exceeded the high expectations we had from friends' recommendations and from the online reviews.
We were travelling as two couples and stayed in the Terrazzo 2 br apartment for 4 nights, with each evening and morning providing a different unique combination of autumn colours, sunlight, valley fogs and evening shadows, while sipping wine on the terrace or viewed through any of the windows, from bed or table.
Facilities were wonderful. Each bedroom had a comfortable double bed and its own bathroom. The oven, stove and dishwasher all worked well. We favoured the espresso pots but there was also a coffee machine available, in addition to plenty of clean pots, pans, crockery and cutlery. We stocked up on provisions on our way, at the Castelfiorentino COOP store, 10 mins away.
Nicoletta's prompt and comprehensive attention to details in the booking process (plus providing GPS coordinates) made things very easy for us. Franco and Patrizia were genial and very hospitable hosts - on the spot, without being in our space.
Our interactions with such genuine people, including an invitation to Franco's cellar, once a 14th century chapel, provided memories we valued even higher than our car day trips to San Gimignano, Volterrra, Siena and Radda.
Catignano is off the main road, so is a very quiet part of the world with its own rich history, but is readily accessible to the celebrity spots with a good map and GPS ... Gambassi and Poggibonsi can present some navigational challenges.

Room Tip: The terrace rooms are higher than the loggia, so voews are wider, but you need to be comfortable wit...
