5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2013

Me and my boyfriend went to eat there by chance, because the restaurant is on the way to Phalassarna we wanted to visit. when we walked in, we did not believe that we had a wonderful meal. The moussaka was great, the greek salad very fresh and sweet outstanding! the owners were very kind and helpful! we were lucky to find this place!

“Great food, nice people.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013

On our road trip around Crete we ate in a dozen tavernas and it's very hard to find one with better food and friendlier service.
Lamb and chicken straight from owners farm, excellent!
You must visit it when in Kissamos, Phalasarna area!

“The Freshest Tastes in Crete”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013 via mobile

My partner and I stopped there on the way back from Falassarna because of the attractive/relaxed look from the outside, as well as the promise of home made lemon pie.
We were welcomed by a smiling Fotis, who promptly explained what was available, and described how the dishes were made, proudly emphasizing the home grown produce used as ingredients - young rooster, potatoes, lemons and his mother's goats cheese, which was by the way amazing!
Also, when I couldn't decide between the moussaka and the chicken with lemon and herbs Fotis was very accommodating, and gave me both. Please, have both.
Everything looked and tasted bright and fresh, and tasted so yummy - just what I expected.
My partner enjoyed his lamb, cooked in guess - Fotis's own home made olive oil, although he pointed out the joints he was given had quite a lot of bone, but maybe that was part of the dish. We never asked.
All in all, I wouldn't hesitate to go back, and that says a lot about the quality of the food and the service.

“Fantastic authentic Cretan food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

On the road to Falasana is this wonderful family taverna. You cant miss it as it has traffic light like signs and a massive Asterix muriel on the wall! Fortis and his family grow and raise most of their own produce and it makes their food, in our opinion the best on the island. He is open from April to November and is the most welcoming host. Also worth a mention is his wine I only sample the white but it is so good I often leave with a water bottle full for later ;) If you want a friendly welcome, fantastic food, a spotless loo and free wifi...this is the place for you.

“Home Cooking”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

Fotis will make you very welcome at his restaurant where his mum is the cook. He has a varied menu and excellent wines. Some evenings in the summer there is live music and dancing. A pleasant surprise in Platanos.
